20th Annual Mayor's Hillsborough River Clean-up - 10/31/07 09:33 PM
November 17th marks the 20th annual Mayor's River clean-up.  The lower Hillsborough River borders Sulphur Springs, Riverbend, Old Seminole Heights, Wellswood, South Seminole Heights, West Tampa, Ridgewood, Riverside Heights and Tampa Heights. This annual event usually draws 1,200 volunteers. Removing nearly 10 tons of garbage from the lower Hillsborough River (the area south of the dam in Rowlett Park).
Volunteers need to register at Lowry Park at 8:00am on the 17th.

Old Seminole Heights has around 7,500 homes within the association's boundaries.  Since we are one of those trendy neighborhoods there are usually the common as well as the unusual.

Old Seminole Heights Neighborhood Association mtg - 10/14/07 02:51 PM
The Old Seminole Heights  Neighborhood Association (OSHNA) is the largest voluntary neighborhood group in the city of Tampa with approximately 570 members.  It certainly covers a large chunk of real estate in central Tampa.  The 4th quarterly meeting is coming up on  October 23rd at 7pm.  The meetings are held in the basement of the Seminole Heights United Methodist Church.  This is also the night of the annual elections for the association's board.  This year yours truely has decided to run as a write-in candidate for a Trustee position...a position I last held in 1993-1994.   Then the association only had about 150 members.  … (4 comments)
