The Salt Lake City Utah Real Estate Market has been very active... Here's a recap of what I posted at www.TheRealEstateReportCard.com. Although we are not seeing any appreciation home sales have been very good especially considering the market as a whole. Short sales continue to keep their thumb on values with over 1 in 4 active listings being a short sale.The job market is really the key to recovery. Salt Lake City Utah Real Estate Market Seasonal Bump? Our number of short sales have declined to just under 25%. Our peak number so far occurred the week of February 7th, 2011 with 27% of the active listings being short sales. Let's hope that number continues to decline. Most of the year 2010 saw us in the 21-23% range. Since the beginning of 2010, our inventory was at it's lowest January of this year with 6339 active listings and the peak with 7772 active listings in July, 2010. We are currently at 6561. Lets take a look at our 30 day snapshot of our Salt Lake County Real Estate Market! Looking back from 5/2/2011 we can see that sales are booming. Our low point this year was back at the end of January with 440 sales. Right now we are up about 60%! Wow! We have dropped our inventory from a 15 months supply of homes back in January to 9 months.
