When I meet with sellers these days the discussion of renting their home has become a popular topic.  Maybe they are in a situation where they cannot sell and clear enough money to justify selling the home, but they are in a situation where they can keep their current home and still move on to their next home. sell.
In order to do this there are some financial requirements your next lender will require of you in order to qualify for your next mortgage, please consult with a competent mortgage professional to make sure you qualify and help you make sound decisions … (7 comments)

If have been shopping for a home in Montgomery County Maryland, then The Kentlands was surely one of the stops or considerations you made.  If you are not familiar with the Kentlands it is a Neo Traditional Neighborhood. The Neighborhood is designed where you could Live, play and work in one area.  Smaller yards, sidewalks and all of the amenities and shopping are within walking distance.  The Kentlands is a very active, social community in the heart of Gaithersburg.

maryland: West Riding Subdivision Gaithersburg, Maryland 20878 - 03/19/09 05:15 PM

When I think of the word "neighborhood" I think of West Riding.  It is an established neighborhood located in the heart of Gaithersburg.  It is part of the City of Gaithersburg.  There are different home styles in West Riding.  There are two styles of Colonial, a split colonial, split foyer, rambler and a raised rambler.  The homes were built in the late 1960's and early 1970's.
When you look in West Riding at homes, you will see that most of the homeowners have updated and remodeled many of the homes.  You will find new kitchens, replaced windows, roofs, HVAC systems.  … (2 comments)

maryland: Open House Sign In Sheets - 01/31/09 12:56 PM
When I do my open houses I have a basket that I bring all of my open house "stuff" with me to the house.  I have fliers, brochures about the house and myself, business cards and my open house sign in sheets.
When I get to my open house, I turn on all of the lights, put out a little snack or candies - I have to wrestle myself to not eat the stuff- and then I set out the sign in sheet with a pen for all to freely give me all of their pertinent information.
Now as folks come … (32 comments)

maryland: Let Me Introduce My Seller I have Never Met . . . - 01/15/09 01:21 AM
I have a new  listing in Darnestown, Maryland, that was the family home and we have been getting it ready to put on the market.   I was found as a direct result of Active Rain - I will post about that later.  I have never met the "owner" of this house.
As I have gone through the house with the Seller's sons, we have worked removing a lifetime worth of memories and personality from the house to get it ready for today's market.  Most items have been removed, but it is interesting as I have moved and gone through the house, I feel like … (12 comments)

maryland: What's Cooking In Bethesda Maryland? - 11/07/08 02:23 PM
Bethesda Maryland has an abundance of restaurants.  There is a different flavor or taste for every palate.  However, I am not going to discuss restaurants in this post, but I am going to discuss food.  My friend, Jackie, and I are the resident foodies of our group of friends we love to entertain and cook for friends and family.
Jackie and I are pretty good cooks, but as with all things there is always room to improve.  So Jackie and I take recreational cooking classes at L'Academie de Cuisine Culinary School in Bethesda.  There is an accredited program for those who have the passion to cook, become professional chefs and make it … (4 comments)

maryland: Glen Echo Park Partnership Holiday Art Show and Sale - 10/26/08 01:49 PM
I often have people ask me if I ever rode the Carousel at Glen Echo Park as a kid?  Unfortunately I did not grow up here and never had the privilidge of riding the carousel. The carousel is the  Dentzel Carousel built in 1921.  The Park was formed back in 1891 and was used for Arts, science and literature mostly.  In the early part of the 1900's it became an amusement park that most local Washingtonians grew up with until 1968.
The Federal Government took the land over as part of the park service, but in 2002 Montgomery County Maryland took the … (3 comments)

maryland: Hello Mutta, Hello Fatta . . . - 10/01/08 06:48 AM
Hello Mutta, Hello Fatta I know
I am working with ya dautta,
Dont be scared or nervous,
I am here to be at your service.
One of my friends says that God makes babies so wonderful and cute that you love them through their teenage years.  God also makes them teenagers so you are able to let them move on and move out when they are in their late teens.  I always thought that was a pretty good analogy.
I know you nurtured and sheltered your child to the nth degree of your love and ability.  Now they have gone … (13 comments)

maryland: Ghost Hunting on the Streets of Frederick Maryland - 09/25/08 01:11 PM
It is getting to be that time of year again.  Spider webs, cauldrons and spooky characters.  Some like to go to Haunted houses, haunted forests, but my idea of fun is the  Candlelight Ghost Tours in Frederick Maryland.
Did you know that Frederick is over 250 years old?   Many of the major Civil War battles were fought  around Frederick County.  The Battle of Antietam, South Mountain and the Monocacy Battle.   Frederick was the largest city during these battles and many of the wounded soldiers came to Frederick for medical help.
Downtown Frederick has been restored and updated over the years.  Just think of the small quaint alley ways, … (2 comments)

maryland: Remembering 9-11 - 09/11/08 03:08 AM
Today is a beautiful day here in Maryland.  Many folks don't think of Maryland as Washington DC directly, but our area is part of the entire Washington DC area suburbs.
9-11 was a tragic day in our nation's history and was a very scary day here in the DC area.  My recollection of the day was coming in from my morning trek with my dog to have the TODAY SHOW on television and they were reporting about the first plane that hit the first Tower of the World Trade Center.  As I stood there watching, the second plane crashed into the next … (21 comments)

maryland: RE/MAX Realty Group Day in The Park 2008 - 08/30/08 02:09 PM
Last Sunday our office had an office BBQ at the Seneca Creek State Park in Gaithersburg.  It was a really fun afternoon.  Our office does a really great job keeping us things positive and fun.
Kara Hurley, one of our office managers and party organizer extrodinaire, thought it would be a fun afternoon for us all to come out and hang out together and just let go of the market for a bit.  I think it is really a great thing that even in tight times our brokers and managers are trying to keep things up and positive for all.

maryland: Hey, Check Me Out, - 08/30/08 04:16 AM
Well, not really ME in particular.  I am talking about where you can go to check folks out that may come into your home to do work or if you are shopping for a home, you may want to check the sex offender registry.
We all want to protect our families, no question about it.  In the past, people have bought homes only to find out that a criminal or sex offender lives right down the street.  That could be unnerving to say the least.  However, it is up to YOU to find the information and make the final decision.
It … (2 comments)

maryland: Email Fliers, Let Make Them More Effective . . . - 08/13/08 08:01 AM
Today's marketing is indeed for the house, but isn't part of for ourselves as well?  Sure it is.  We all know the three main cogs in the wheel are Price, condition and location.  Or in today's market, PRICE, PRICE, PRICE to get our listings sold.
I do believe you should have a quality brochure for each property.  Buyers can take with to jog their memory, virtual tours are a must, the magazine - well, I think that is more for our self promotion to keep our faces out there in front of the public and yes, I still do it.  I … (17 comments)
