Blue surreal trees in Seattle Two projects in Seattle one at Westlake Park in downtown Seattle and the other located along the Burke Gilman Trail will feature blue smurf colored trees. The trees are painted with biologically safe pigmented water color by Australian artist Konstantin Dimopolous. The blue vibrant blue trees are painted to help draw attention deforestation issues around the world. The trees, once painted will slowly fade and will lose most of their by summer, until then, the blue trees are turning heads. Basketball playing robots in Seattle If you’re a basketball fan or you can’t get enough of high school basketball playing robots you don’t want to miss the “Rebound Rumble” Washington FIRST Robotic 2012 Seattle Regional event. The 2 day event, also known as, the “Super Bowl of smarts” will be held March 23-24 2012 at CenturyLink Events Center. Seattle is host to 90 high school robotic teams and 2,500 students from the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Only in Seattle could you find a dedicated website and a trip planner for the January 1st polar Bear Plunge. Seattle Parks and Recreation and the Meadowbrook Community Center Advisory Council are co-sponsoring the ninth Annual Polar Bear Swim at 12:00 PM. Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011 at Matthews Beach, 9300 51st Ave. NE. The first Polar Bear Plunge in 2003 had about 300 participants and since then it has as many as 1000 people of all ages.
