Hmmmm.......... Is that a oxymoronic statement?

When I think of yoga, adjectives like relaxing, calm, peace come to mind.  When I think of running, terms like pain, soreness, and agony come to mind.

Well -- A Workshop titled Yoga for Runners will combine the two exercises.

Hip Hip Hooray          Hip Hip Hooray

We have heard so much about Base Realignment Closures Act (BRAC).

On April 16, 2008 a milestone was reached - Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) broke ground on the new facility which will consist of seven buildings encompassing approximately 1.1 million square feet at a cost of about $442 M.

The headquarters building is slated to ready for occupancy by October 2010 and the remaining buildings by September 2011.

Approximately 4,300 DISA Jobs will relocate to Ft. Meade from Northern Virginia  during the next 3 years.

Hensel Phelps Construction, the winning company selected by The Army Corps of Engineers, Baltimore District --stated that more than 200 local and national companies will be involved in construction of the new DISA complex.

Quick take -- Housing inventory is about supply and demand.

What do you think will happen in three years with the influx of thousands of people relocating?

What is appreciation? Below is the definition from dictionary.com -- Dictionary.com Unabridged (v 1.1) - Cite This Source - Share This ap·pre·ci·a·tion Audio Help /əˌpriʃiˈeɪʃən/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[uh-pree-shee-ey-shuhn] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation –noun 1. gratitude; thankful recognition: They showed their appreciation by giving him a gold watch. 2. the act of estimating the qualities of things and giving them their proper value. 3. clear perception or recognition, esp. of aesthetic quality: a course in art appreciation. 4. an increase or rise in the value of property, goods, etc. 5. critical notice; evaluation; opinion, as of a situation, person, etc. 6. a critique or written evaluation, esp. when favorable.

What slide caught your attention? -- (for me) -- there were a few -- one being the number of people who have a computer, internet capability and how 6 people controlled the wealth.

I appreciate and am very thankful for my children, health, relationships with people, and a roof over my head.

Show your gratitude by telling the people you appreciate them. Don't be shy!  Write a note and send it by mail-- one of the lost traditions of the modern world.

Five years from now it will be 2013! Will you ask yourself, this question? -- Why didn't I buy a home when the prices were very attractive?(While the inventory was plentiful and the market was normal). Recently, I heard Les Brown, the motivational speaker state -- "During adversity -- expand!" You can use the classic Dr. Seuss book, Oh, the places you'll go! to wonder and wonder in delight with that statement. I say - the American dream is alive and well -- choose now what you'll do!

The answer is:

I didn't feel like changing into my gym clothes so I went to Border's instead to read. I am so glad I did because I came across an excellent book titled, "The Faith Club: A Muslim, A Christian, A Jew-- Three Women Search for Understanding".

The book is real, the authors share their feelings completely as they go on this journey of discovery as they learn about themselves as well as their new found friends' faith.  It's  an excellent depiction of what can occur when human beings come together to work on a project despite the challenges that may occur as you face tough questions.

Personally, I believe that if we discussed issues such as faith -- we would have a better understanding of people who may seem different.  The authors do an excellent job of providing a blueprint as to how to start and conduct a faith club.

Let me know what you think when you read it.

Peace

I first heard of this story this morning while watching ESPN, Outside the Lines.

George Martin,  a 14 year veteran of the NFL -- he played defensive end for the New York Giants and has a Super Bowl Ring -- is up to big things in life --  he is on a quest to raise 10 Million dollars for the first- responders of the 9/11 tragedy.

Imagine being able to touch the lives of some 40,000 people -- that is the approximate number of firefighter, police, EMS and volunteers who have been affected by breathing the contaminants without protective masks.

He started his walk in September 2007 at The George Washington Bridge in New York and his walk will end at San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge.  The walk will cover 3,300 miles -- and he has taken a year off from work as an executive to accomplish this goal.

So far he has lost 30 lbs and raised more than a million dollars.
