When it comes to steering, sometimes it is difficult not to do. I understand the concept of non-discrimination and that fair housing is important, but when you have a little old lady that asks you to look up houses for her, and as you are going through pictures she asks about one that is in a gang infested war zone, the fact that you can't tell her what you know about the neighborhood is ridiculous. Then again, maybe I am interpreting the rule wrong.

Again, I understand the thought behind having rules. Comments like, "Its pretty dark over there", or "Hope you speak Chinese", or Spanish, or whatever culture happens to dominate the area, is racism. And if a customer happens to be the one saying it, we are supposed to subtly drop them off and quit working with them. Even though they may prefer to live in certain areas, and not in others. In the case of the little old lady, who you know darn wouldn't be happy in an area where gunshots are known to occur 3 or 4 times a week, it should be ok to 'steer' them away. What if someone just wants to live in an area where older people live because they don't want kids around them? (Like Sun City). Can you suggest that to them?

Anyway, I'm not trying to cause trouble here, and I could care less about religion, skin, monetary status, kids or no kids, or sexual preferences, or whatever else people have problems with. I guess I just wish it didn't have to come to such political correctness because a few people are extreme with their ideologies or racism. Hate is a horrible thing, but much of the time it doesn't come down to hate. Just preference.
