First you can contact the one of the most popular agents on Atlanta's West Side of town. Which would be me of course. I specialize in Mableton. Why? Because it is where I live, work and play. But seriously, I would recommend most buyers google or use their favorite search engine to pull up the town of Mableton. You will want to review schools, stores, proximities to area shopping and then lastly the housing stock. If you haven't met with and qualified with a mortgage planner, now would be a good time to start. I would recommend South Pointe Financial located in the Dunwoody area. I have used their services for about 10 years now and have worked with both Howard Conoly and John Gehlmann for a long and long time..
Once you have actually met with a mortgage planner face to face and gone over the type of financing you would like to use once you located a property, you would want to start visting neighborhoods. I would suggest that you first drive the areas and neighborhoods to famillarize yourself with roads and area offerings. See how close the park is for little Beth and Timmy. What the traffic patterns in the mornings and evenings to see how long traffic would be for you during prime times....etc.. Next if you havent already contacted me, to do so now and get together with me to address your goals and time frames. At this time we can start to tour homes so that you can decide which one you like.
Once we find something I do all of my magic behind the velvet curtain and then Suprise!! You have a new home! And did I mentioned that my fee is usually covered by the seller?
Now some real estate pros will tell you to contact them first before doing anything else. I have a differnet approach. I think it is important for you as a buyer to become familliar with neighborhoods and areas of town that would suit you before speaking with just any ol agent. The reason why is because if you have had a bit of sight seeing yourself and have looked at neighborhoods and home pricing online, you will have a better idea of what values are and would know a deal when you saw one. I also find that if a buyers knows the type of homes and neighborhoods they like beforehand, they will have little to no buyer's remorse after the initial signing of offers and contracts. And they amount of homes you would have to look at before noticing a deal goes down quite a bit as well as the the shop-wariness that comes after looking at house, after house, after house only to find out that you passed up the house you should have gotten weeks prior and is now gone.
So if you have an interest in a Mableton Home whether it is a short sale, foreclosure, luxury home, investment property or other, start online with general area knowlege, then look up current homes prices, contact your favorite lender or the one I suggested , tour the areas your interested in and then give me a call to get you in the door to your dream home and ink out a deal that will make you happy.
Until then, keep Mableton on your mind.
