old town alexandria: Should I Have Left Business Cards on These Cars? - 03/24/10 02:59 PM
Sunday night, my wife and I enjoyed dinner outdoors at one of our favorite Old Town Alexandria restaurants, The Fish Market, where we dined on one of our favorite dishes, the Seafood Bake. We were treated to our own private car show there on King Street. The white Rolls Royce was parked right in front of us the entire time. Then... it was joined by a red Ferrari which pulled in behind it halfway through our meal. Just about every guy walking up and down the street took a photo of these two luxury vehicles. After dinner, I considered leaving

old town alexandria: Kilts, Bagpipes & Maybe Some Haggis: The 39th Annual Scottish Christmas Walk Weekend in Alexandria VA - 12/01/09 03:12 PM
I'll skip the haggis. Just doesn't sound appetizing does it? Haggis contains sheep's heart, live and lungs, minced with onion, oatmeal, suet, spices and salt, mixed with stock and traditionally boiled in the animal's stomach for about 3 hours, according to Wikipedia. Sorry for those of you who love it, but YUCK! They (or at least Mike Myers on SNL) used to say that "If it's not Scottish, it's Crap!" Well, then, here's an event that is most certainly not crappy! In fact, it's fun for the whole family and a long tradition in Alexandria, Virginia: 39th Annual Scottish Christmas Walk Weekend This

Sorry to break it to you but Summer's Over! Not by the official measure of the Earth's orbit around the Sun at the center of our solar system. However, look around you. Kids are going back to school. The weather is cooling and friends and family are stocking up on charcoal, burgers and corn on the cob for the last hurrah of Summer 2008 this coming Labor Day. If you live in Alexandria Virginia or anywhere nearby, the end of Summer certainly does not mean the end of fun and good times. By no means.
