Vermont after Hurricane Irene and Flooding Photos around the State of Vermont, around 260 roads are blocked or washed away, and 30 Highway Bridges in Vermont had to be closed, which sure has hampered the rescue efforts of 13 Towns. Those communities and have been dependent on the Army National Guard helicopters to fly in food and water to the folks which live in them.


 
Record flooding in communities throughout the region of Vermont sure was hit hard.
 
Nearly every major highway in Vermont damaged by floodwaters.
 
4 to 6 Historic Covered Bridges were destroyed.

Flooding and Road Closures all over Vermont, flash flooding is still occurring in all areas of the state and more are expected throughout the evening. Hurricane Irene sure did leave a mighty big mark on the area.
