womens council of realtors: Leave a trail - 01/20/10 09:04 PM
I have escaped from home for a few days and yes, you've guessed it. I'm staying at a Marriott.  "Leave a trail of genius" is the slogan or motto on Marriott notepads and is featured throughout the hotel on various brochures and paperwork.
This little phrase generated some rather serious reflection today.  I began to wonder about my legacy and if I even had one.  What do I want people to remember about me when I am no longer around? That is to say, when I've moved on, either from this mortal coil, or relocated to Costa Rica as per my … (6 comments)

womens council of realtors: CIPS and NAR Mid Year Meetings in Washington DC - 05/15/09 12:35 PM

Our meetings in Washington DC have been wonderful.  It is always great to see you all at these gatherings.  The CIPS breakfast was fun and we welcomed the newest CIPS designees!  I then attended the International Operations committee meeting where we were updated on a variety of issues and NAR positions from immigration reform(Silver Visa),  foreign investor regulations, and other housing initiatives.  I am so honored to be a presidential appointee to that committee.
Of particular interest to me was the announcement of a possible trade mission to Chile, scheduled for later in the year.  Jose Serrano of Raleigh NC … (2 comments)

I am very grateful and yes, honored to have had this blog written with the focus on Women's Council and me!  We had a super meeting.  Valuable networking took place; I heard some referrals being made!

I arrived in Raleigh today to be the guest speaker to the Women's Council of REALTORS General membership meeting. As I entered the Sheraton I felt like I was entering a great convention for REALTORS as I saw tons of great billboards and professional agents proudly wearing NAR badges... Before … (3 comments)

womens council of realtors: Not just another meeting! - 03/25/09 03:28 PM

On the 4th Wednesday of each month, the local chapter of the Women's Council of Realtors, the Crystal Coast Chapter meets to learn, network, and yes, upon occasion, we socialize!

Our programs are always stellar. You can check out our programs for yourself at www.wcrcrystalcoast.com! Today's meeting was one of the very best.  Our ‘young turk' president, Amy Hahn, presented Blogging for Dummies.  Folks, this was a great program!  It was organized, and absolutely chock-full of great, useful information.

This is the same  ‘young Gen Y turk', who about a year ago, would barely speak above … (4 comments)

womens council of realtors: What a week so far! - 12/02/08 10:06 PM
Sunday was the first week of Advent and what is the beginning of the busiest time of year for church soloists.  Yes, I sang in church this past Sunday morning and I will sing again tomorrow at our mid-week Advent service at noon.  Hooray!  I get to(note I did not say 'have to') one of the contralto solos from Handel's Messiah.  Great music for anyone's soul!
Monday, was just another crazy day in paradise(at the beach).  Put up the office Christmas tree-that is the broker in charge's job, right?  That's OK.  It's up. It looks good.  Completed the bank run - … (5 comments)

womens council of realtors: Movie night, good friends, and leftovers - 11/28/08 09:01 PM
Good evening everyone!  Friday night is by tradition, movie night for me.  My friend for more than 30 years, Louise, and I try to get see a movie each Friday night.  We love comedies, action/adventures, chick flicks, dramas, and musicals, but avoid violence, blood, and mayhem, or stupid.  We laugh, clap, cry, and 'boo' and are often shushed because we enjoy our movies so much.

That short time of escape allows us to forget daily pressures and worries.  It also has cemented a long-time friendship.  We generally alternate who picks the flick of the week and there is a … (13 comments)

womens council of realtors: Veggie soup for the REALTOR'S heart - 11/22/08 09:49 AM
Today is very cold here at the beach! (22 degrees)  Winter is not officially here, but the frigid temperatures say otherwise.  I am so grateful to live in a warm home, with a huge pot of homemade soup on the burner!  Have spoken with my sister this morning from the other side of the state.  All is good in her house as well. Aren't we blessed?!  Just learned that my husband will traveling home for Christmas, hooray!  What a nice Christmas present for me!  His business requires that he spend most of his time out of the country.
My business is still pretty … (13 comments)

womens council of realtors: Women's Council of REALTORS - 11/14/08 04:38 PM
Today, I participated in a planning session for our local chapter of the Women's Council of REALTORS.  Without a doubt, the women sitting around that conference room table were some of the most dynamic, enthusiastic, and professional REALTORS I know.  Our local chapter leadership has planned a year of programming that is awesome.  These programs are designed to enhance our member's professional expertise and further develop them into twenty-first century entrepreneurs.  Amazing!
