Applications for the State and Local Homeowners Elderly and Totally Disabled Programs  as well as the Local Homeowners Elderly Tax Freeze Program are now being accepted in the Shelton Assessor's office. Deadline for application is May 14.
The State and Local Homeowners Elderly and Totally Disabled Programs are available to homeowners who turned 65 on or before December 31, 2009 and to totally disabled homeowners (no age requirement).  Income limits are $39,500 for married couples and $32,300 for a single. The condo real estate market in Shelton CT for the month of January 2010 showed an improvement in sales and market time from the previous year but was down considerably in list/sell prices.

MLS data shows Shelton CT condo sales in January were UP 25% from January 2009.  Average list and selling prices were down 71% and 68% respectively. The December 2009 market report was a hard act to follow.  But there is still plenty of good news in the 2009 to 2010 comparison.

MLS data shows Shelton single family home sales in January were UP 29% from January 2009.  Average list and selling prices were UP 19% and 22% respectively. Three home sales in the $700K+ range brought the averages up.
Average days on the market indicated only a 8.55% increase.
