My son is always telling me to ‘slow down', or ‘you need to take a break' or ‘shouldn't you stop doing everything for everyone"?  
Well, being a Type A personality, it's hard NOT to be a control freak. Most of the time, I would much rather do things myself than hand them off to someone else. I'm always trying to work things out to make everyone happy.  
I just received this little story from a relative in an email and thought it was very apropos.  It's adapted from an Aesop's Fable.   You may have heard it before, but it's worth reading again.

Shelton CT Condo Market Report for June 2010 - Business Was Brisk! - 07/13/10 05:49 PM
The Shelton CT condo market report for June 2010 showed a 114% increase in sales compared to the same period last year.   However, we should probably acknowledge that the homebuyer tax credit had something to do with the strong number of sales.
Average list and selling prices were both down 26%.   Not so hot, there.  However, further analysis shows the sales were slightly skewed by a $895K sale in 2009 that brought that month's averages up considerably. 
To get a more accurate picture, take a look at the median sales figure, showing a 9% decrease in selling price.

Shelton CT single family home sales, including Huntington and White Hills,  were UP 35% from June 2009.  The average list and selling prices were down 6% and 5% respectively, and median price was down 9% from the same period last year. Days on the market were up 8%.
Here's the shocker!  The absorption rate for the month of June was actually the lowest in quite some time, with 5.86 months to sell off the current inventory.  That statistically puts June into a 'seller's market'. Remember that?  Well, don't get too excited, … (0 comments)

The weather will be absolutely perfect for the annual Shelton, CT Fourth of July fireworks display at the Shelton Riverwalk Veterans Park located downtown on Friday, July 2.  Please note the date!!
The Shelton CT fireworks will be preceded by a concert from 7:00 - 9:00 PM featuring the CT Symphonic Orchestra.  See the Summer Concert Series Schedule for full information on this concert and others.
Come on down early.  Bring your chairs and blankets.  Vendors typical to the summer concert series will be available with assorted food and drink.
