The space shuttle Enterprise finally made it to its final destination from the Smithsonian in Washington DC to JFK Airport in New York this morning. 
Before landing, the shuttle aircraft carrier with its 90,000 ton passenger riding piggy back, made about a 45 minute low-fly final-tour flight up the Hudson River to the Tappan Zee Bridge, back down to the JFK area, over to Bayonne, New Jersey, looped a few times around the Statue of Liberty, passed by the Intrepid Air … (5 comments)

Dryer, Dryer, Pants on FireWell, it happened again. I needed a service call on my dryer for no heat. Why did this happen? I take care of the dryer. I clean out the lint trap after every load. I don’t overload the dryer. I even use one of those long neck brushes to clean out lint. But still, I blew out the heating element. Of course, it had to happen with one load in and another waiting to go in.

I raced to get to the Activerain CT meetup at Dagny Eason’s home in Wilton on Monday, April 16.  Life has been hectic for me lately.  When I received the invitation for the April 16 CT meetup, I wasn’t going to be able to attend due to a scheduled brief getaway.  I was so disappointed as I had also missed the last meetup before Christmas.

Stratford CT March 2012 single family home sales were UP 36% as compared to March 2011 sales.

List and selling price averages both decreased 22% and the median was down 14%. 
 
Days on the market went down 8%
 
 
 
 Moving forward,  there are 37 houses under deposit and 66 pending sales (under contract).  That should ensure another good  month of sales moving forward into April.

Monroe CT real estate sales for March 2012 MORE THAN DOUBLED -- UP 117% -- compared to March 2011 sales.
Additionally, BOTH list and sales prices INCREASED 10% and 11% respectively with the median also rising 9%. March 2012 sales of single family homes in Shelton CT were down considerably from March 2011.  The yearly sales chart below shows March 2011 with the highest number of sales in the last year.   
 
A comparison of March 2012 sales to the two previous months shows sales steady.  There's good news, though.....read on.....
 
Compared to the same period last year, listing and sales prices both INCREASED 38% and 36% respectively.  The median was up 15%.

February 2012 sales of single family homes in Shelton CT registered a 14% increase in sales from January 2012 and a 7% increase from February 2011. 
Compared to the same period last year, listing and sales prices both decreased 13% and 11% respectively.  February 2012 had less higher-end sales than February 2011 bringing the averages down.
The median remained flat at less than 1% and days on the market went DOWN a significant 25%.  Houses priced well and marketed extensively are bringing the buyers in.
