Jacksonville, Florida Selected by Forbes Magazine as a Top Place to Retire in 2011.
The April 11, 2011 edition of Forbes Magazine lists this year's top places to retire, Jacksonville, Florida was selected. The list is provided in alphabetical order, so some people thought Jacksonville came in at #7, but in reality, Forbes posted the top 16. It just goes to show what we in Northeast Florida already know, but it is nice to let the rest of the world know as well.
This supports last October's SmartMoney Magazine selecting St. Augustine, Florida as #3 Top Place to Retire.

On 11/10/09 at the Scenic & Historic A1A Corridor Management Council meeting at the St. Augustine Library, Joy Hampp with the Marineland Right Whale Project gave an insightful presentation on the endangered North Atlantic Right Whale.

Serenata Beach Club is a private club located on the Atlantic Ocean in South Ponte Vedra Beach, FL between St. Augustine and Ponte Vedra Beach.
I enjoy many social events here including Tuesday Trivia, live music on many Sundays during the summer, Ladies Luncheon, the Book Club, the Artist Series, dining, happy hour, the hot tub and the adults-only pool. I also appreciate that they don't have a meal minimum and there is a full exercise facility with many classes at no charge. northeast florida: Northeast Florida Town Hall Meeting - March 23 6:30-7:30 p.m. - 03/23/09 07:57 AM
Tonight, March 23, 2009, there will be one extremely large town hall meeting for northeast Florida. In fact it is actually 7 simultaneous town hall meetings and they will be held in each of the seven counties of northeast Florida (Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, Putnam, and St. Johns). All interested residents are encouraged to attend and participate by giving feedback on how we should grow as a region answering questions from the "Grow Smart Survey" or you can take the survey in person by going to the Town Hall Meeting and voting between 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm today.

Greg Caldwell from St. Johns County engineering reported the following updates on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 Vilano Beach Main Street meeting concerning the Vilano Beach Town Center infrastructure improvements:
The roundabout fountain by the fishing pier will be operational by this weekend (Memorial Day weekend).
It was operational on Thursday, May 22nd. It looks great especially at night. Yes, it is shut off late at night. Have you noticed the nice neon lights on the bell tower by the fishing pier?
