St. Johns is located in St. Johns County in northeast Florida. It was one of only two places in Florida to make Forbes/GreatSchools list.
GreatSchools combined two databases that calibrate the results of varying state tests by national standards to come up with an absolute score for each city. It then graded them on a curve with the highest-ranking district, Falmouth, representing 100. By cutting the list by median home prices they came up with an overall ranking.

Vilano Beach grocery store's plans will be reviewed this Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at the North Shores Improvement Association's building at 120 Meadow Avenue in Vilano Beach. The North Coastal Corridor Overlay District Design Review Board will meet at 3 p.m. to review both the plans for the grocery store and for restoring our Bluebird of Happiness as public art. Tonight, March 23, 2009, there will be one extremely large town hall meeting for northeast Florida. In fact it is actually 7 simultaneous town hall meetings and they will be held in each of the seven counties of northeast Florida (Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, Putnam, and St. Johns). All interested residents are encouraged to attend and participate by giving feedback on how we should grow as a region answering questions from the "Grow Smart Survey" or you can take the survey in person by going to the Town Hall Meeting and voting between 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm today.
