FOUND IN MY ATTIC! HUGE SIGNS! Signs are 24" x 48".......pretty big and very old. Reading the signs will bring back Searcy AR memories for sure. There is no date but read through them and see how many of the sponsoring new car dealers are still owned by the same folks. Then go to the ones who gave donations and see if they are still around. Things changed greatly as these big signs slept in our attic. And they provide great Searcy memories. … (3 comments)
Carder Buick Olds dealership Nice old souvenier pocket knife from the popular Carder Buick-Olds car dealership in Searcy AR. This is available right now on ebay and I have never seen one of these before. Carder Buick was a popular dealership up until a few years ago when it closed down. Going through a lot of saved clippings, saved by my now deceased mother-in-law Wyndelene Duncan, I found this interesting one. It shows probably every car dealer in Searcy AR in possibly the 60's. She failed to put the date on this one other than that someone died on March 16. It may have been Mrs. Gill. Look through the list of attendees and see how many you remember. Here are two more car dealerships that were active in 1965 in Searcy Arkansas as seen in a 1965 high school yearbook. Sleuths, do you know who they are and where they were?
And while we are at it, we might as well show this dealership that is slightly out of Searcy but not very far. They advertised New and Used Parts, Car Parts Galore, Lots of Good Used Cars, A Bonanza of Bargains and Wrecker Service.
