walmart: Visit Crystal Bridges in Bentonville but don't forget to go to the Dime Store. - 05/04/12 02:15 PM
As a child I wanted to go to the "Dime Store."  Perhaps it was called a five and 10 cent store but to me and my kin it was the Dime Store.
I could go in there with one dime and find many items that would please me.
In Arkansas we now have the famous Crystal Bridges Art Museum in Bentonville AR.  I absolutely insisted that Hubby take me up there to see all the art work.  He didn't object too strongly because he likes the drive in North Arkansas.  Even he was delighted with the new museum.

walmart: Before Wal-Mart in Searcy Arkansas there was Magic Mart! A look back..... - 09/04/10 10:01 PM
We forget.  We forget some of the great stores that we used to have in our town.  I remember Magic Mart but my memory is sorta vague.  Here's a great shot taken from an old high school annual ad that shows it at 3003 East Race Street in Searcy Arkansas. What came before Magic Mart?  What came after Magic Mart?  Some of our historians may remember and give us the history.  Some of our car experts can probably also date this photo by the vehicles in the front.

He whined and said he guessed he'd have to go out there himself and see if they had any.  I suggested that I just order him some.   He jumped at that idea.
So I went to Walmart.com  and put the item in for a search.  The report said that Wal-Mart doesn't sell the item on line but I could do a store search.  I … (13 comments)

walmart: Casual musings while in the grocery store. - 10/06/08 07:18 AM
We're out of everything and when we're out of everything I try to go the Wal-Mart Super Store to stock up.  I go early in the morning before the crowds arrive.  Yesterday, as I shopped it made an impression on me once again how there were no happy faces!  All my shopping buddies looked just like me....pained. OMG....this cheese last week was $3.78 and now it is $4.88!  OMG....they think this little tub of butter that is not real butter is worth $2.50! Lemons are 59 cents each!  I can do without those. This tomato juice has gone up from $2.32 to … (26 comments)
