Lake Sylvia State Park

I need help and I'm turning to my collegues in the Real Estate world. Nestled in the woods in a quiet little area sits a beautiful Lake surrounded by larger than life trees. That lake is the center piece of Lake Sylvia State Park. It's a quaint, small, lovely park with camping, fishing, swimming, a playground, picnic areas, walking trails, bike trails, a waterfall and more memories than I care to think about.

This beautiful sanctuary is in danger of being closed. Governor Gregoire has named this lovely park as one of the parks she plans to close for budget reasons. In fact, two beautiful parks in this area are on the list. But, for now, Lake Sylvia is my focus.

This lovely Lake is used by so many children and families in this area, I can't imagine what summer would be like without it. A drive through this park on a nice summer day and you will see families with kids of all ages enjoying the lake, walking on the trails, swinging, having a picnic and enjoying all that this Park has to offer. To shut this park down would be a travesty to our area and everyone visiting our area.

As a Realtor, I'm proud to point out all of the wonderful features Grays Harbor has to offer. Lake Sylvia has always been one of those fabulous features. A great State park -- right in our own back yard! How lucky to have such a gem. I certainly don't want to tell them that we "used" to have a beautiful state park in our area, but it's now closed. What a tragedy that would be.
