Cincinnati Agent Attacked at Open House...Some Common Sense Precautions! - 02/27/09 02:05 PM
Today I read an article about a Cincinnati agent who was attacked while closing up her model home around 6:00p.m. on super bowl Sunday. The attacker appeared at the front door with a ski mask on, and while she told him she was closed and shut the door, by the time she got to the garage door to lock it, he was there and attacked. She was able to fend him off and he ran off.She was lucky. I know we all have horror stories to tell and I personally know of an attempted rape of an agent with whom I … (9 comments)

You guessed it . It happened to me today. I  have a lovely client that is kind, respectful of my family, respectful of my time, grateful for everything I have done for her,  so appreciates my honesty and thinks me to be a sincere person.  The perfect client. But today she e-mailed me about a new home she had seen.  It was not clear in her e-mail if she had seen it on line or had actually been inside.
But, she had actually been inside and met with the rep and talked about lots, extras, etc... She all but signed on the dotted … (24 comments)

Broadview Heights Youth..Are You ready for Some Baseball??? - 02/26/09 07:36 AM

I have watched my daughter who is 14, play softball, since she was about 5 years and it is without a doubt my favorite pastime. She's become quite the pitcher and hitter over the years, often getting doubles and triples, and being the pitcher in the last inning of the championship game 2 years ago, which they won! I look forward to it every year and this year will be no different, though much more challenging as she is now in the 14-18 league and the competition is pretty stiff. But just like all city sports there are deadlines and … (4 comments)

You've Purchased a Home Well Under the County Valuation...Can You Get Your Property Taxes Reduced? - 02/25/09 08:17 AM
With so many homes selling below the county valuation, many buyers are wondering if they can get their property taxes reduced.
While I may not be able to answer that with a resounding yes, I can point you  in the right direction to get the process started. If  you do not agree with the assessment of your property taxes you do have the right to appeal that valuation with the Cuyahoga County Board of Revision. In Cuyahoga County,  the auditor, the treasurer, and the president of the board of county commissioners each appoint members to the board of revision. There are … (8 comments)

Bye Bye Birdie
Bye Bye Birdie is the musical that takes a hilarious look at the early Elvis rock era of the late 50's and the teenage craze associated with it has been a favorite among theatre goers for many years. According to David Banks, the director, "We will bring our own special creativity to this show and promise to give the audience a tremendous theatrical experience."I have only seen a few shows at Walsh, most recently the fall production of The Matchmaker and … (2 comments)

One of The Best Upgrades We Ever Made To Our Home! - 02/21/09 03:06 PM
A few years ago during a bad winter in Cleveland I noticed about 1 foot of solid ice in the valley of our roof that leads to the gutter behind my garage. The back of the garage converges with the ceiling of my dining room. Having seen many homes suffer damage from these ice dams, I was naturally concerned so I said to my husband, "Honey we just have to do something about this ice. If we don't I'm sure we will get water down the back of our garage wall or worse, down our dining room wall, and that would be … (10 comments)

Briarwood Golf Club in Beautiful Broadview Heights Ohio - 02/20/09 01:37 PM
Some time ago I ran into friends while they were having lunch. They told me of the wonderful experience they had just had with John Knezevich, the owner of Briarwood Golf Club. They called John about having their son's First Communion party at Briarwood.  They went on and on about how thrilled they were when John actually answered his phone, and how accommodating he was to their needs. They mentioned that he would allow them to bring in a cake, unlike so many other places they had called, who were very rigid in their rules. So I met with John and found him … (4 comments)

Pilgrim Inn in Brecksville Ohio to be Replaced by a Skilled Nursing/Rehabilitation Facility - 02/20/09 11:22 AM
For many years the Pilgrim Inn was a landmark in the heart of Brecksville, but has been defunct for quite some time. As it happens, it is located on the same grounds as our beautiful office of ReMax Trinity. In November, Brecksville residents voted for a rezoning of the property that would allow a skilled nursing/rehabilitation facility to be built in place of the Pilgrim Inn. If this were to happen, it would be so wonderful for those who have been lifelong residents of Brecksville and surrounding communities to be able to go here for rehab.  This will give those folks an … (0 comments)

Real Estate Taxes 6 Months in Arrears in Cuyahoga County Ohio..What does That Mean for Sellers? - 02/09/09 07:27 AM
Over the years I have found there has been much confusion over what it means to be 6 months in arrears on your real estate taxes, and what that means to you when you sell your home.In Cuyhoga county Ohio, and in many surrounding counties, we are typically billed in December and June, with payments being due in January and July.  In January of 2009 when we, (or our lender), paid our real estate taxes, we paid for the FIRST HALF of 2008. In  July of 2009 when we, (or our lender), will pay our bill it will be for the SECOND Half … (2 comments)
