The Beechmont Neighborhood wii hold its annual Festival of Flowers on May 10. The festival will be held at the gazeebo located at Southern Parkway and Woodlawn, the hours will be 9am till 4 pm.Outside vendors and Association members will have for sale annuals, perennials and some herbs.There will also be other garden related items there for sale as well. This is a very nice neighborhood of Louisville,one in which I live pretty close to. Hospital Plan For Bullitt Co Approved - 04/30/08 08:27 PM
Yesterday Gov Beshear signed a regulation that will allow hospital beds inBullitt Co. This will effect the Jewish Hospital Medical Center located in Hillview, which could become a Hospital by adding 60 inpatient beds. Construction could begin next year and go from one floor to 4 floors.There is also a projection that 200- 250 jobs could be added.Bullitt County is the largest county in Ky that does not currently have a hospital. The proposed shopping center will be east of the Jefferson mall on Outer Loop.The proposal will be reviewed at a public meeting planned for May 8, at 1 pm.The meeting will be held at 514 w Liberty Street, it will be held before the Land Develpoment and Transportation Committee. Louisville home prices rose more than 4% for 2007, this comes from a report that was released on 4-25.The report comes from The Jefferson County Property Valuation Administration office.The median home price rose from 2006's $141,000 to $147,000 for 2007.The study was also sponsored by The Realtors, The Mortgage Bankers Association of Louisville, and The Home Builders Association of Louisville.The study was an effort to show how things reallr are in The Louisville Real Estate Market. The report also shows that there have been fewer homes sold for 2 years in a row now.

The Christian Motorcyclist Association/Derby City Disciples 2008 Run for the Son Bike Blessing will be held Saturday April 26th at Hikes Point Christian Church. The Church is located at 2601 Hikes Lane, registration , along with doughnuts and coffe will be from 9-11.30. Lunch will be from 11- 12.30. There will be door prizes, trophies and best of bike show.There will also be music by La Follette, cost is $10.00. Are there less people out than what is normaly out? I have noticed in the last couple of days that it seems like people just arent out as much as they usually are. I dont know if it because of the gas prices, maybe people arent driving as much.When I went out to eat the last few days there hasnt been any wait.Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me? Louisville Home Prices Fell 7.1% For March 2008 - 04/24/08 07:00 PM
The median home prices for Louisville Ky, fell 7.1% for the month of march compared to last year.This news comes from The Greater Louisville Board of Realtors. Homes sold was also down at 19.5% fewer sales.The median price for Louisville is now $130,000.00. This is still below the National figure of 7.7%.The inventory stands at 9 and 3/4 months, this is down from back in January when inventory was at around 12 months.

Fairdale Youth Baseball season has began - 04/19/08 03:47 PM
Fairdale Youth baseball has began today.At 10 am this morning there was an opening day parade. All the teams rode in the back of different pickup trucks, some were decorated. With a police escort the parade made its way around differnt roads and subdivisions in the Fairdale and Auburndale area. The kids even threw candy to bystanders as they rode past them. After the parade the kids got a free ticket for a cookout, adults were allowed to purchase a ticket for only $2.00. You were given a choice of a cheeseburger, hamburger, or hotdog. The Louisville Zoo located at 1100 Trevilian Way, will hold a mulch(hardwood) and compost sale on April 26 from 8am till 11am.You may pay at the ticket window, and pickup will be at the bus parking lot.Prices for the mulch will be $22.50 for a small pickup truck and $35.00 for a medium to large pickup. The city of Louisville will have a junk drop-off on Sunday April 20th at Waste Mangement Landfill, located at 2673 Outer Loop from 101m till 4pm.Residents are asked to seperate any items that may be recycled. They will not accept yard waste,paint, tires, hazardous materials, or commercial trash.Anything with freon , the freon must be removed. materials such as paint,old batteries,chemicals, or fertilizer should be taken to The household Hazardous Material Collection Center which is located at 7501 Grade Lane, The center is open on Wendsday and Saturdays only. Bullit County will have a cleanup on April 19th and April 26. Bullitt County residents can start dropping off items that they no longer want starting at 8 am. The drop off points will be at Bullitt East High Schools parking lot, Nichols Elementry school, and Brooks Elementry school. The drop off points will close at 4 pm. Fairdale Youth Baseball will have thier begining of the seaso parade tommorow Saturday April 19th at 10 am. Team members should be there earlier, call your coach to find out what time he or she wants you there. There will also be a cookout later, I havent been told what time yet. My sons team is supposed to recieve thier uniforms this evening, call your coach if you dont know what time your team recieves thiers.In addition, weather permitting the season is supposed to start tommorow. I try to do business with merchants located in Louisville ky's south End. As a resident I try to spend my money on goods and services that are local. Most of the time I try to go out to eat at Okolona,Valley Station, Auburndale, or somewhere else in the south end.I try to buy my gas locally, as well as my groceries.and most of my other supplies. If I need a service I use one of our local service providers such as a plumber, mechanic, ect. Why not try to keep the money in our neighborhoods?

Also set your table as if you were going to entertain that way the potential buyers could see themselfs as entertaing there. In your kitchen--Clean all your appliances, both inside and out, while you are at it make sure all apces work properly. Clean under your sink. If you like to fish ,then here is some good news for you.This past Thursday 2 local lakes have been stocked. The lakes are William F Miles Lake no 4 ( off of Shelbyville rd) and Tom Wallace Lake in the Jefferson Memorial Forest in Fairdale. Miles Lake was stocked with 600 channel catfish , 12 inches long, and 600 bluegill. Tom Wallace was stocked with 1000 cats and 1000 sunfish. In addition to this on this Tuesday April 8th, Tom Wallace will be stocked with 2000 Rainbo Trout. Wendsday Miles Park Lake will be stocked with1500 Rainbos.Besides this stocking both lakes are (0 comments)
