The Beechmont Neighborhood wii hold its annual Festival of Flowers on May 10. The festival will be held at  the gazeebo located at Southern Parkway and Woodlawn, the hours will be 9am till 4 pm.Outside vendors and Association members will have for sale annuals, perennials and some herbs.There will also be other garden related items there for sale as well.

Hospital Plan For Bullitt Co Approved - 04/30/08 08:27 PM
Yesterday Gov Beshear signed a regulation that will allow hospital beds inBullitt Co.  This will effect the Jewish Hospital Medical Center located in Hillview, which could  become a Hospital by adding 60 inpatient beds. Louisville home prices rose more than 4% for 2007, this comes from a report that was released on 4-25.The report comes from The Jefferson County Property Valuation Administration office.The median home price rose from 2006's $141,000 to $147,000 for 2007.The study was also sponsored by The Realtors, The Mortgage Bankers Association of Louisville, and The Home Builders Association of Louisville.The study was an effort to show how things reallr are in The Louisville Real Estate Market.  The report also shows that there have been fewer homes sold for 2 years in a row now.

Are there less people out than what is normaly out? I have noticed in the last couple of days that it seems like people just arent out as much as they usually are. I dont know if it because of the gas prices, maybe people arent driving as much.When I went out to eat the last few days there hasnt been any wait.Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me?

Louisville Home Prices Fell 7.1% For March 2008 - 04/24/08 07:00 PM
The median home prices for Louisville Ky, fell 7.1% for the month of march compared to last year.This news comes from The Greater Louisville Board of Realtors. Homes sold was also down at 19.5% fewer sales.The median price for Louisville is now $130,000.00. This is still below the National figure of 7.7%.The inventory stands at 9 and 3/4 months, this is down from back in January when inventory was at around 12 months.

Fairdale Youth Baseball season has began - 04/19/08 03:47 PM
Fairdale Youth baseball has began today.At 10 am this morning there was an opening day parade. All the teams rode in the back of different pickup trucks, some were decorated. With a police escort the parade made its way around differnt roads and subdivisions in the Fairdale and Auburndale area. The kids even threw candy to bystanders as they rode past them. I try to do business with merchants located in Louisville ky's south End.  As a resident I try to spend my money on goods and services that are local. Most of the time I try to go out to eat at Okolona,Valley Station, Auburndale, or somewhere else in the south end.I try to buy my gas locally, as well as my groceries.and most of my other supplies. If I need a service I use one of our local service providers  such as a plumber, mechanic, ect. Why not try to keep the money in our neighborhoods?

If you like to fish ,then here is some good news for you.This past Thursday 2 local lakes have been stocked. The lakes are William F Miles Lake no 4 ( off of Shelbyville rd) and Tom Wallace Lake in the Jefferson Memorial Forest in Fairdale. Miles Lake was stocked with 600 channel catfish , 12 inches long, and 600 bluegill. Tom Wallace was stocked with 1000 cats and 1000 sunfish.
