Foreclosure Rent Back Program for Owner occupied and Tenant - 11/28/09 03:51 PM
 
With Fannie Mae bankrupt and the acquisition of over $6 billion in foreclosed real estate in less than a year, Fannie is offering their ex-borrowers a 'rent-back' option. 
This will allow past owners to become 'tenants' in their home and rent the property from Fannie Mae at the rental market value.  Owners will voluntarily relinqiuish the deed back to the lender.  Leases will be offered on a month to month tenancy, and in turn tenants will be able to remain in place for up to a year.  Families will  feel a sense of security being able to stay in their homes and not being … (2 comments)

1.  Borrowers can re-qualify for a Fannie Mae loan in only two (18 months to 2) years from the date of the short sale.
2.  A standard 1003 application does not ask nor address anything about a short sale.
3.  A short sale does not challenge most security clearances.
4.  A short sale will not challenge current employment or future employment.
5.  Short sale may affect your credit for a period of 12 to 18 months, but it will NOT be reported on your credit history as a short sale.
