A Pearl Harbor Survivor Remembered....A Day He Never Forgot My Father-in-law, Major Robert Melton, US Air Force was stationed at Pearl Harbor and always remembered that terrible day of December 7, 1941. He was in a wooden barracks doing paperwork when he heard the bombing and as it got closer, he ran outside and dived underneath the building. His best friend who had enlisted with him and gone through basic and other training, jumped on his back as they hit the ground. Bob survived but his best friend didn't.
