real estate marketing: Realtors, Do You Mistakenly Think Banks Don't Need Investors? [Video] - 06/08/10 04:34 PM
I've been reading some posts lately wherein some here on AR seem to think the short sale flip is going the way of the Dodo bird and that banks don't want to deal with investors. We also have read many articles talking about how banks only want "market value" and as such, we as Investors will be riding off into the sunset. Well, I'm here to tell you first hand that NOTHING could be further from the truth. If you only knew how many calls we get from banks to clean up deals that Realtors who had no business being involved

real estate marketing: Real Estate Investing To Be Made Easy - 11/30/08 10:20 AM
Last week we announced that we were going to be focusing more on real estate investing rather than talking to agents through our blog and radio show. We have decided to begin a video training series that will teach investors of all skill levels how they can make money in real estate. While most agents won't have any interest in embracing such an entrepreneurial stance, we post here anyways on the chance that there may actually be a few agents out there who might want to venture over to the "dark" side. In any event, those that do, might make some

real estate marketing: Jamie Dimon Is My Hero - 04/04/08 02:04 PM
April 4, 2008 "Buying a house is not the same as buying a house on fire"JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon explaining his bargain basement deal to buy Bear Stearns Other than finding a deal on a home you want to live in for the next five years or so, you would have to be an absolute fool to buy a house in today's market anywhere close to list price. There is no room for speculation in real estate today. If you are going to invest, which is vastly different from speculating, you have to be prudent, ultra-conservative and economically responsible in your purchasing practices. Real

real estate marketing: Do You Want To Make Money In Real Estate? - 04/01/08 12:27 PM
April 1, 2008 If you want to make money in real estate...no I'm not talking about a measly commission fee. Commissions are for mortals. I'm talking $30,000..$40,000..$50,000 or more per transaction, then we have a plan for you. We know of ordinary men and women who are looking at today's real estate market as a HUGE opportunity for profit. Fortunes are made when prices are this low. When we say low we mean 25%, 35% even as much as 60% or MORE below market value. These are the kind of numbers that get buyers enthused and they should be getting you enthused.

real estate marketing: What If Dick Vitale Was A Realtor? - 03/27/08 11:23 AM
March 27, 2008 Last weekend I was watching some of the games of what has become an annual rite of spring passage, the NCAA Basketball Tournament. The tournament has become a brand of its own, March Madness. In just about every business office in the Country, there is some talk about how everybody is faring in the office pool. But as I watched the games and stories unfold last weekend, something became very apparent to me. What happens to college students, who when looked at on paper and seemingly have no chance of winning, do the unthinkable? I watched West Virginia topple Duke, Western Kentucky overcome Connecticut

real estate marketing: Who Says There Are No Buyers Out There? - 03/25/08 08:58 PM
March 25, 2008 I have asked a question regarding a conundrum I have been concerned with for some time. Is the real estate market slow because there are truly no buyers, or is the market slow because there are no agents...professional, hard working ones that is? Enter Denny Grimes from the southwest part of the State of Florida. Grimes is a real estate broker from the Cape Coral area and his client purchased a development from a bankrupt developer. Builder and real-estate investor O.J. Buigas bought 116 homes - (82 houses and 34 townhouses) - from Miami-based Tousa homes Florida LP, parent company of

real estate marketing: Are You Like A Typical White Person? - 03/23/08 12:51 PM
March 23, 2008 Last week presidential candidate Barack Obama fanned the flames on a continuing racial wildfire when he said his grandmother was a "typical white person". So we wondered if you are a typical white person...or some reasonable facsimile thereof. "...she is a typical white person, who, if she sees somebody on the street that she doesn't know, you know, there's a reaction that's been bred in our experiences that don't go away and that sometimes come out in the wrong way, and that's just the nature of race in our society." Well, I am not going to touch that with a

real estate marketing: Is Seth Godin Right? - 02/22/08 12:55 PM
Is Seth Godin Right? OF COURSE HE IS!!!!! Today on the uber marketer's blog, he wrote an article that I feel is most appropriate. It is a call for change. To me I am finally glad to see him come out on this subject. We have been talking about this for months on our radio show and in our blog postings and while many agents are now seeing the future..way..way..too many are resistant to change and are comfortable living in Jurrasic Park. If only NAR would shake the trees and stop pandering to the incompetent, obsolete agent, then maybe the industry would actually

real estate marketing: Real Estate & The Celebrity Apprentice - 02/10/08 11:16 AM
February 10, 2008 After a long week in the studio I grabbed a box of Nilla Vanilla wafers and a tall glass of ice-cold milk and settled into my trusty "dad chair" to catch up on some of my previously recorded programs on Tivo. I was watching an episode of the "Celebrity Apprentice" and something struck me as to how the show should be watched by all real estate agents. If you are not familiar with the show, two teams meet with a product manager or brand executive at a consumer product company and they are told that there is a new product

Today's marketer can position themselves any way they want to. Whether you want to appeal to dog lovers, single mom's, Gen X or Gen Y'ers or empty nesters, you can create a brand that will align you with the market you want to reach. Sometimes you can reach all simultaneously. Have you given clear and concise thought as to who you would like to reach in your real estate marketing? Everyone wants to find a buyer but not any buyer will do.

real estate marketing: How Would I Justify My Commission? - 01/28/08 12:34 PM
January 28, 2008 Over the last week or so, I wrote a couple of posts relative to defending the almighty sacrosanct real estate commission. I have literally spoken or corresponded with thousands of real estate agents and other than the usual talking points from the National Association of Realtors, I have not yet to date received any substantive response. I have received legal threats, personal attacks and some of the most vile rantings one could imagine by simply asking a reasonable question. I have had many agents inanely compare themselves to trial lawyers who took on big tobacco. I even had one

real estate marketing: The Listing Addendum Every Seller Must Have And Most Agents Will Never Agree To - 01/27/08 05:31 PM
January 27, 2008 Last week there was a lot of chatter on real estate industry blogs about the Ummel case in Carlsbad, California in which a client has taken her real estate agent to task over alleged misrepresentation and incompetency. As can be expected, many major news media organizations have picked up on the story and it has become a big news item across the Country. Recently we have begun marketing our blog to consumer oriented readers as well as our core readership of real estate industry professionals. As a result of our intensified direction and focus, we here at Real Estate
