Parrish will be seeing a few more new stores opening in the next month or so.
"A pizzeria/Italian restaurant and a Chinese restaurant are already confirmed as new tenants of the Shops at Silverleaf, where Publix opened a new store on July 26. The plaza is on U.S. 301, near Chin Road.""A nail salon, a dry cleaner and a hairdresser have also signed leases for space alongside the grocery giant, according to North American Properties, which owns the plaza."

The new Publix grocery store in Parrish on Hwy 301 is now open.
"Parrish did not have a large grocery store until the opening of Albertsons, close to Ellenton, in October 2001. But the large number of new homes built or being planned has helped put the once-sleepy community on retailers' radar.""About 42,000 people live in North Manatee, and another 20,000 homes have been proposed or are under construction in the area. A Sweetbay is also planned as part of a 256,000-square-foot retail project at the corner of Erie Road and U.S. 301."

A story in the Herald Tribune this morning is just one of many that I'm sure will be the future for Manatee County if something is not done.
"Spiraling insurance costs have caused the closure of Rogers & Company, one of Parrish's best-loved antique stores. While out for a drive today, I discovered one of the neatest subdivisions that I have ever been in. River's Reach is a brand new subdivision being built by Neal Communities and is located on Rye Road between Golf Course Road and Upper Manatee River Road in Parrish. It's about 12 miles from SR 64.
