  There are so many agents that I look up to. Some have 20-30 years of experience.  I can only aspire to do as well, if not, better than they did, with their help, of course. But older does not ALWAYS mean BETTER.
I had to go through great lengths to look as though I'm in my mid-30s just to be taken seriously in this business. While it is the best time to buy.... Media, today, portray the gloom similar to the presumed DOOMED Housing MARKET that they thought it was in 1985. Looking back, we could have bought many and cashed in our paychecks in 2003-2004 to allow us ALL to retire.  Time will tell who can expect early retirement in 2013-2020, when market shifts to the seller's side.

With the wave of pessimism.... we sometimes overlook that with recession comes great opportunities.  My business partner, Marc Brodeur, often reminds me of the common adage to buy low and sell high.  He then goes on to mention, "but, Annabelle, do they ever really do this?" The point he made was shocking. With the home prices at their lowest, buyers and investors alike are not taking the very best deals offered to them.  Fear prevents them from buying low (it might go lower, oh no!) and euphoria (it will go higher!) prevents them from selling high.
