National Day of the Cowboy 2009 Planning Is Underway in Gold Canyon Arizona - 04/30/09 11:57 PM
The National Day of the Cowboy is becoming quite the holiday in Arizona. The U.S. Senate passed a resolution in 2005 stating that the fourth Saturday in July is to be set aside to honor this national icon with its creed of honesty, hard work, independence and loyalty.
If you have a business in or near Gold Canyon it’s time again to begin planning for the annual summer celebration that takes place this year July 24-26, 2009, called National Day of the Cowboy. This annual event commemorates the contribution that the American Cowboy has made in American history.

Boyce Thompson Arboretum Near Gold Canyon Arizona has New Australian Exhibit - 04/30/09 11:49 PM
If you live in Gold Canyon, or are coming to the area, Boyce Thompson Arboretum State Park always has something interesting going on. Coming up is their showcase of “the land down under” in which they are featuring 340 species of Australian plants in the Arboretum’s Australian exhibit. The newly completed Australian Interpretive Pavilion has been enhanced and officially opened to the public April 24, in celebration of Earth Day activities. Gold Canyon Arizona Sewer Services To Be Capped Off For Non-Payers - 04/30/09 11:43 PM
If you live in Gold Canyon Arizona and have not paid your sewer bill, you might want to re-consider. The Gold Canyon Sewer Company has hired a contractor to begin digging and capping sewer services in Gold Canyon for anyone who is not paying their sewer bills. This process will begin on April 27, 2009. This will only affect customers who have refused to pay their sewer bills.
This action is legal per the GCSC tariff. Pinal County will also be handling out “unfit to occupy” notices to the residents who are not paying their bills and are getting their sewers … (1 comments)

Gold Canyon Arizona Needs More C.O.P. Volunteers - 04/30/09 11:35 PM
Summer approaching means hot weather in Arizona. This means that many of the area "snow-birds" begin to flock back to cooler climates for the summer. Many of these "snow-birds" are active members of community volunteer programs. The Gold Canyon Arizona Citizens on Patrol program (C.O.P.) is one such program. More volunteers are needed. A new Academy of classes  is being scheduled.

People Are Not The Only Ones Losing Their Home- Pets Are As Well - 04/30/09 10:22 PM
As more foreclosures happen, people lose their jobs and the troubled economy continues, sadly many more people are leaving pets behind when they leave their homes. Volunteers with Phoenix Arizona non-profit, Lost Our Home Pet Foundation report there has been more than a 15% increase in pet rescues in the past few months due to foreclosures and the economy. The volunteers have gone from getting a few calls a week to now getting four or five calls a day about animals left behind in homes. Adopt-a-Pool-Fence in Arizona Helps Keep Kids Safe Around Pools - 04/12/09 08:34 PM

Since 2001 the Phoenix Firefighters Association, SRP and Valley of the Sun United Way have come together to support a free Adopt-a-Pool-Fence Program.
