Devonshire, Bethesda: One of the smaller communities in Bethesda with 41 homes and has no home owner association restrictions.  The homes range from about 1000 - 4100 sq. ft mostly updated ramblers, a few cape cods, and split level, six have under gone major renovations, and about six are new construction that sold for around $1.5 million.
Presently, there are no homes on the market or under contract. Absorption rate is 0 month.

The Hendry Estates community borders the Ayrlawn community.  They are situated West of Old Georgetown Road and North of Greentree Road.
There are 187 homes, and presently there are no homes on the market. 
One home is Under contract in 23 days.  This home is on a main road and it was listed at $486,000.  It has 5 bedrooms and 3 baths. 
Hendry Estates has an absorption rate of 0 month.  Hendry Estates has no inventory available at this time.  Sellers would do well to place their home on the market at this time, providing that the home and the sellers are ready.

Ayrlawn, Bethesda is located West of Old Georgetown Road and North of Greentree Road. 
There  are 2 newer Colonial homes priced at $1,150,000, $1,299,000. They have been on the market from 186-264 days.
There are 2 homes under contract. One was reduced from $699,000 to $659,000, and has been on the market 89 days. A second home went under contract in 20 days listed at $1,250,000.
Ayrlawn absorption rate is 0 months,  Ayrlawn, like the rest of Bethesda, has a shortage of inventory.

Wyngate, Bethesda is located East of Fernwood Road and North of Greentree.  There are 422 homes in Wyngate.  Some of the homes are Ramblers, some are Cape Cods and some Colonial.  There are contemporary homes, renovated homes and new Colonial homes.
Presently, there is one home on the market.  It is a new home with six bedrooms and Six bath priced at reduced from $1,585,000 to $1,399,900. This home has been on the market 327 days. 
Three homes listed from $450,000 to $675,000 are under contract. These homes were on the market 92-496 days probably because they were on a busy main road.

Alta Vista Terrace, Bethesda is located North of Greentree and West of Old Georgetown Road.  The community is made up of 250 homes. 
Presently, there is one brick colonial home on the market.  The home has been on the market for 119 days. It is now listed for $849,000.  There is another new home on the market for $1,399,900, listed for 19 days.
There is one forclosed home under contract listed now at $960,000.  At this price, the home was on the market 11 days!  Another new home under contract is listed at $1,260,000.
The absorption rate at Alta Vista Terrace is 0 month!  This community continues to be hot!

Sonoma, Bethesda is located West of Old Georgetown and North of Suburban Hospital.  There are 119 homes in the community. 
Presently, there are still no homes on the market!
There are no homes under contract.
The last home sold in Sonoma in May for $500,750.
Buyers need homes in Sonoma!  This would be a great time to list your home if you live in the Sonoma community.

As I am getting ready to rent my Bethesda home, and move. I have been thinking about what I will miss not living here.  I will surely miss all the wonderful herbs, berries and fruits I planted. The conveniently located community, the people I met and befriended.  However, this week during the snow storm, I was reminded of a more meaningful reason to miss this neighborhood.  I saw my neighbors out shoveling snow for an older home owner, neighbors shoveling snow off the street and not waiting on the county to show up, and an owner of a snow blower even clearing the sidewalks along the entire … (3 comments)

Work Ethics: Where have all the dependable house cleaners gone? - 12/17/09 08:28 PM
With new listings chances are we would need a house cleaner.  Right?  I have had this issue now a few times.  The cleaning women said it would take 2-3 days to clean the house!!!  The first woman dragged it out for 3 days!  Since I did not deal with her, it did not bother me as much.  But now I have an out of the country owner and I would not accept this.
Since I have been cleaned my own homes for many years, I know how long it might take.  Therefore, I find it very irritating that today in the DC … (0 comments)

My Rental on 9918 Marquette Drive was "highjacked" by scammers: Watch Out for Scams on Craigslist! - 12/17/09 05:06 PM
I just got a call from a woman who saw on Craigslist that 9918 Marquette Drive, could be available for $1,000.  The post stated that for $1,000 she could get the keys to the house, since "the owners are in Africa". She mentioned that they had even the interior pictures!  To her that was a sign that the home was theirs.  She did not think that they can easily pick any pictures off the Internet, once the legitimate owners or agents advertise a property.
