Help: Coop Owner Cought Between Community Demands and Tenant's Lawyer - 11/10/10 10:00 AM
Here we go again...same owner who has not taken my advice, now has a new issue.
The tenant is smoking.  The next door neighbor is suing.  The coop arranges a hearing (Landlord Tenant office insists the Coop had no right to do that).  Tenant hired an attorney. Owner hired an attorney at $350 an hour (bad idea).
The results are: owner "required" by Coop to paint and clean the carpet in the apartment to "stop" the smoke smell.  Owner is complying and attorney instructs coop to communicate only through him to the owner, another bad idea.

Here is my dilemma...at one of my client's home I met a junk removal owner who was bragging about his prices being the lowest in town.  Of course I asked for his cards. Though he was butting into my conversation with my client, I overlooked that.  Soon after he raved about the new phone service that saved him money and said:  "This was the best thing that happened in my life!"
