EARLY STAGES OF 35W BRIDGE RECONSTRUCTION Just one year ago today the unthinkable happened in Minneapolis. The 35W bridge over the Mississippi River collapsed taking many cars to the depths of the river with it. Disbelief showed on the faces of local residents. Emergency call operators found the messages they were hearing hard to believe. Lives were forever changed, some through loss, and others through survival. Minnesotans showed their tenacity in this tragedy. There was no looting. There was no pillaging. Complete strangers risked their lives to help those who were trapped, some at the risk of their own lives. (6 comments)
minnesota: The Minnesota Blogging Crown Has Passed to Another
- 02/17/08 08:28 AM
It happened very quietly, almost surreptitiously, but I noticed that the Minnesota blogging crown has now passed to a new owner. The Minnesota Blog Queen has been displaced by a new face, one who very much deserves the honor. Teri Eckholm of Anoka, Minnesota, Halloween Capital of the World and NOT St. Paul (we'll forgive her for all of that!) has come from behind with a slow and steady tortoise like pace to earn the first place position in Minnesota on Active Rain. Out of 1075 Active Rain bloggers in Minnesota, Teri is number 1!
Congratulations, Teri! Don't think we old (12 comments)
The battle heated. Bonnie racked up points and fired the first taunt! Teresa had frequently written about bugs on her blog. This would surely get the message across!
Teresa’s fingers cramped the next morning as she worked toward higher points. Her first retort to the bug was the smashed tomato. She knew it would do Bonnie in. It worked! She was frustrated but relentless as always!
Blogging at night. (I admit I am weird but it is a sick woman that blogs alone in the dark) It’s Bonnie’s forte. Overnight Teresa falls to fourth (14 comments)
