City of Asheville Bans Gated Communities - 06/20/07 01:13 PM
 
The Asheville City Council voted last Tuesday, June 12th to forbid new gated communities, following through on concerns that these developments make the city less of a community. The ban passed by the council on a 5-2 vote applies to future developments, which would no longer be allowed to restrict access to only residents and their guests, done usually with gates or security workers. The council action also forbids new gated developments just outside municipal borders where Asheville exercises zoning control. It does not affect existing gated developments or those already approved by the city.

Sometimes the Clients Aren’t Just For Us - 06/19/07 08:40 AM
I had a heck of a Memorial Day weekend (May 25th -27th) several weeks ago and was getting ready to blog all about it. I had three clients scheduled one on Saturday, Sunday and Monday all looking for land for sale in the Asheville area. Luckily I had all my previewing of property completed early and had my itinerary complete for each day for each client. Then late on Thursday evening I get a referral for a couple from Texas looking for a historic home close to Asheville in the one million to 1.7 million range.
