America's Best and Worst Housing Markets - Portland Oregon Placed #4 in Best Housing Markets!Forbes magazine analyzed monthly declines as well as year-over-year declines in home prices.
The data used was released Feb. 24 from the S&P/Case-Shiller home price index, 20 cities were examined in the U.S. on the basis of how fast home prices are falling, whether or not that descent is picking up speed or slowing down, and how many months of lost equity homeowners have endured.

The inventory of existing homes for sale in 29 major markets covered by ZipRealty declined an average of 2.5 percent in January 2009, compared to December 2008 and down 13 percent compared to January 2008.This is a good sign, especially when considering that typically inventories rise in January after the holidays. Beautiful Sherwood Oregon
Sherwood is one of the fastest growing and most desirable towns in Oregon.This city's growth has not squelched the small-town atmosphere of the historic Old Town, and the camaraderie that is evident at community gatherings such as the city's annual Robin Hood Festival.


The Tualatin Indians were the first to live in Sherwood.  It wasn't long after the the first wagon trains arrived in Oregon in 1843 that farmers arrived and settled in Sherwood.

2009 Real Estate Forecast Shows a Gain in both the Pending and Home Sales Arena!
Pending home sales show healthy gain.  Pending increased as more buyers took advantage of improved affordability conditions, according to the National Association of Realtors®.  Big gains in the South and Midwest offset modest declines in other regions.
The Pending Home Sales Index,1 a forward-looking indicator based on contracts signed in December, rose 6.3 percent to 87.7 from an upwardly revised reading of 82.5 in November, and is 2.1 percent higher than December 2007 when it was 85.9.
