Historical Landmark , Spokane WA Clock Tower (1901) - 06/27/08 12:12 AM
In 1974, The Worlds Fair was here in my home town of Spokane WA!
The area developed for the Fair was downtown on the Spokane River. The old clock tower from the railroad has become a historical landmark here in Spokane WA , and is now surrounded by Beautiful Riverfront Park where Expo 74 was hosted.
Here is a photo pre- Expo 74 (Worlds Fair)

MOLD... a personal close encounter of the 3rd kind... - 06/25/08 09:54 AM
                    MOLD.
How strange that this naturally occuring substance can wreck havoc in our homes and our bodies. I know, this is a very contraversial subject. I am well aware this issue is being debated in nearly every arena, in the building industry and even the legislature.
I have a dear friend who started our as a client from my web site. Her story is tragic, and she is now a "mold activist".
You see my friend is one of the rare people in the U.S. to win a lawsuit against a builder for negligence which led to her family being … (2 comments)

Ready, Fire, Aim! The importance of being pre-approved for a loan - 06/25/08 12:49 AM
This business of purchasing a home involves so many whirling emotions, sometime folks need a little advice on the best order of what to do when.
The most important thing is defining your goals and timelines.  Evaluating if now is the best time to buy a home, perhaps looking at the big picture and getting advice from trusted loved ones and mentors is a good idea.
Before looking at homes, choose a good realtor. You may want to ask friends and family, or interview 3 agents from reputable agencies. A good buyers agent is very important in this major life choice. … (0 comments)

The Fab 4 : Price, Location, Condition, Marketing - 06/22/08 04:47 PM
What do you consider when selling a home in Spokane, Wa. or anyplace else ?
The FAB 4 in my book are:
PRICE: Setting the price carefully is KEY!  It is very important, and sometimes difficult to start off with the right price. If you overprice a home thinking " buyers can offer less" well, statistically it just doesn't work that way. Buyers often judge wether or not a seller is resonable just by their starting price. YES you should get market value for your home! You should get every PENNY!
LOCATION: Here is the only factor you cannot … (2 comments)

The Power of ONE - 06/21/08 06:52 PM
I would like to address the question is a real estate "team" better in some ways than an individul agent?
For me, the answer is CLEAR. As long as the job is being done efficiently, it doesn't matter.
However, I chose intentionally to work as an individual agent, and I have a very powerful support team behind me.
Allow me to introduce support team!

Life... a four letter word - 06/21/08 12:07 PM
LIFE

Approaching fifty in the near future has made me more contemplative and introspective than usual. You see, I am blessed. I marvel everyday at the simple and the extraordinary. However, my life has been riddled with challenges. I am guessing your has to? Some of my personal challenges have been cancer, experiencing the ravages of addictions in my family, raising 5 children, loss, rejection, and things I just can't share. No pity party here. Each of these challenges have come into my life and changed the fabric  of who I am. The most cherished outcome of adversity, is an ever increasing empathy … (8 comments)

Understanding Motivation is EVRYTHING - 06/19/08 11:03 PM
Wether you are considering buying a home or thinking of selling a home , or in the procsess of one or both of these adventures, understanding your motivations is KEY.

In the current market there are all kinds of potential reasons to buy or sell. Be clear in your own mind, and communicate your motivations (reasons) clearly with your realtor.
Some common motivations include: Increase in Family size, decrease in family size, financial reasons, relocation, and the like. Be reasonable about pricing wether you are selling or buying.
As a  realtor, my aim is to be a trusted advisor. Sometimes I even hop … (6 comments)

The Little White House on Chestnut Street ( A Father's Day Tribute) - 06/15/08 12:12 PM

In a fascinating, yet somewhat obscure community here in Spokane Wa. called "Vinegar Flats", sit's a little white house on Chestnut Street. Nestled along Hangman Creek( also known as Latah Creek)  between the back side of the South Hill and Highway 195, this charming neighborhood is little known - even by Spokane natives.
When I drive through Vinegar Flats, my bones tingle. I am filled with curiosity and fascination of how my grandparents walked these streets and made there way with a dog kennel business here. I guess being a dog lover is just another hereditary thing for me.

Spokane Wa RE Update! - 06/13/08 09:16 PM
Here in Spokane WA There is still alot of homes on the market, in comparison to the past two years.
ACTIVE LISTINGS for May 2008 were at 3,354, up from 2,756 in 2007, and 1,971 in 2006.
This creates issues for sellers, such as longer days on market, stiffer competition, and buyers who somewhat have the upper hand.
In my opinion, this overage is created mostly  by current lending factors, and the economy. What we have here is a supply and demand reflection.
It is VERY important to have your house IN THE MARKET not just ON THE MARKET if you expect … (0 comments)

Summer time...and the living is easy... - 06/12/08 08:58 PM
SUMMER and Real Estate
Is summer a good time to buy and sell homes?
With the changes in the market from late 07 till now (6/08) I am thinking now that people realize the world is still turning, this will be a great summer to buy and sell real estate. When you look at the big picture, interest rates are still at historical lows. People have gotten used to the fact that it is more of a buyers market, and things are evening out. Lets face it, how many other investments can you live in?

First and foremost, summer is … (1 comments)

Historical Milk Bottle Buildings! - 06/05/08 04:53 PM
It may seem silly, but I think it is really cool, that according to what I have been told, there are 3 historical milk bottle buildings in the United States, and two of them are here in Spokane!
This buidling is located on Garland Street in North Spokane,Wa. There is a resteraunt here that serves great milkshakes!

The other one is downtown, and has a business in it.

These buildings are obviously unique so I thought you might like to see them! Jusr a snipet of Spokane history.
