2008 the year the snow was GREAT!
WOW. Record snowfall here in Spokane, WA.
It is New Years eve, and looking back on a December to remember.
60 inches of snow in 17 days! A RECORD SNOWFALL for December in Spokane, WA since the dawning of the age of Aquarius. (Since records have been kept, I believe 1881) !
It is the best of times for playing and such. Watching the kids brings back magical memories of jumping off our second story house on Mission street when I was a youngster into a big snow!

Not all MOVERS are shakers! - 12/19/08 03:44 PM
I have been made aware that it would benefit all homeowners, our clients,  customers, friends and family to be very CAUTIOUS when hiring a MOVING COMPANY.
NOT ALL MOVERS ARE CREATED EQUAL.
There are increasing numbers in reports of MOVING SCAMMERS. They give low bids, have no insurance and have been known to keep peoples posessions as ransom for more payment than initially quoted.
As realtors, I think we can help raise awareness in regard to this matter, so people we service and care about don't become the victim of a shoddy mover.
The moral of the story: The cheapest bid … (9 comments)

Winterizing your vacant home or listing - 12/14/08 07:22 PM
12/14/08 It's very cold today in the northwest. We are expecting a wind chill well below zero for the next few days.
If you have a vacant listing, or rental property , or if your friends, family are out of town for awhile, or lucky enough to be snowbirds, WINTERIZING the house is critical!
You may want to have the water source turned off to avoid frozen pipes, which can lead to disaster!
Talk to your local handyman,  plumber , or home service store to see how to best winterize a vacant home. It's important to have someone check on the property from time … (14 comments)

My Christmas gift to you...an original song - 12/13/08 04:12 PM
Family Traditions... few and far between they were in my large Irish Catholic family of nine. But...when I was little, I was the baby of the family for nearly 10 years. We never had a lot of money, and when the surprise second set of twins came along, I became the displaced baby of the family.
But one magical Christmas memory was a favorite tradition.
We would leave the baby Jesus out of our ceramic manger scene until Christmas morning. Then the youngest child would get to place Jesus in his manger first thing on Christmas morning. It was a sacred … (5 comments)

Don't play the broken record. Don't play the broken record. - 12/10/08 07:01 PM

Don't play the broken record. We all have them lodged deep in the corners of our minds.
" I am not very organized"..."I will never make as much money as..." "I hate working out". How about the one we have been brainwashed with this past year? :THE REAL ESTATE MARKET IS TERRIBLE"...
It really does matter what you say to yourself. (It also matters if you talk to yourself, but that is another subject all together...)
Whether you believe in the message of " The Secret" or not, you ARE what you think.
You are a direct product of your … (10 comments)

Emerald Legacy ~ An amazing Concert! - 12/06/08 06:06 PM
On Nov. 29th,2008 I produced a concert with my extended family to benefit the Starlight Childrens foundation. It was a huge undertaking, hundreds hours of volunteering, and it was an overwhelming sucsess!
4 generations of my family performed. It was an incredible event! About 600 people attended and we raised over 30,000$ (before expenses) for the cause! We are considering making this an annual experience for a different charity each year. 3 have already asked !It was an experience of a lifetime!

Little Chicken, the sky is not falling in Spokane WA. - 12/03/08 06:29 PM
The real estate sky is NOT FALLING in Spokane WA.
While things are taking longer to sell for seller weller, flyer buyer is still shopping! As real estate professionals, I must say, we are tired of the overall negative picture that the media has created by generalizing the " real estate crisis". Hogwash. Values are holding just fine in Spokane WA. Now I am ever so sorry, respectfully,  for those of you who have seen severe decline in your market. But it isn't fair for the media to create false fear about the entire real estate market and scare people away … (9 comments)
