inspiration: Are you FOCUSED? - 03/01/11 11:36 AM
Are you focused on your goals and dreams?
Here is an acronym I created:
F.O.C.U.S.Forward.Optimistic.Centered.Uncompromising.Steps of Action
I would like to go through each of these and share my experience.
Forward:Too often I see people with regrets. More damaging I see how the woulda coulda shoulda mentality is like a vice on their soul. It has a grip on them and the insidious thing is that they are creating a present much like their past by regretting it. In order to achieve tangible results, we must use the past as a springboard, not at anchor.
Optimistic: This may sound like an … (6 comments)

inspiration: Embracing the Rain - 05/18/10 04:01 PM
It has been a difficult week for some of my friends and family.
I won't get into the details, but it involves 2 unexpected deaths, and some hard relationship realities, and throw in some additional issues and it ends up as some tragic times for some people connected to those I love.
Wouldn't it be nice if every day was a good one? A happy one?... or would we be less thankful for the little blessings we encounter. Does the rain help you appreciate the sun? Does the dark help you appreciate the light? Does noise help you appreciate the quiet?
Life is … (9 comments)

inspiration: Make 2010 your "Remember When..." - 12/28/09 01:16 PM
My kids and I play a game.
It's called "REMEMBER WHEN..." and then we fill in  the blank.
It can be done anywhere, for any length of time.
They revel in funny childhood memories, goofy quotes, family vacations, precious moments, and even pet stories.
It makes me realize, every day- we are creating memories.
Each moment is a memorial stone. When I grasp this- it makes me want to live DIFFERENTLY.
Make an impact, be an influence, respect the ordinary.
I want to look back on 2010 and say...Remember When...
Time is precious, and I want to truly make the most … (1 comments)

inspiration: Are you *Fun* to work with? - 11/23/09 05:15 PM
In the past 8 years I have been enjoying a steady and sucsessful real estate career. I have had all kinds of buyers and sellers, closers and lenders.
I have worked with some really stressed out people, and I must say, those crab apples are missing out!
I enjoy the journey, not just the rewards. I get involved in a fair amount of messy details in people's lives which could be an opportunity to be crabby.
I make a conscious effort to be fun to work with. Now what does this mean?
Take it easy. Get your ego out of the … (78 comments)

inspiration: Always keep the BIG PICTURE in mind! - 11/11/09 10:35 AM
In my real estate experience (and life experience...) I have had countless issues with small picture issues and bumps. One way I get through them and advise my friends and clients to hang in there, is to keep the BIG picture in mind. The goal, the prize, the outcome.
When under stress, we can all get petty.
Case in point: Just last week, in the final stretch of a deal... I had to get two extensions of a closing date because of a lender who over promised and under delivered. My buyer was getting frantic and frustrated...and I asked her to … (0 comments)

inspiration: "This too shall pass" - 02/28/09 07:32 PM
My grandmother was an incredibly wise woman. She died at age 94 with her wit and spirit in full tact. She said some of the funniest things! Please excuse my frankness, but here goes:
" This too shall pass"
"Isn't that something"
"I believe in sex till your dying day"
" Always say I love you"
" I say my prayers every night and you are in them!"
" We ain't nothin' without the Lord"
.............some of those may seem contradictory, but hey- she was truly one of a kind.
Before she died, I told her I was pregnant. She said … (16 comments)

inspiration: Savoring the Simple - 02/16/08 12:47 PM
Life is SO FULL of little speckles of moments worth savoring. A beautiful sunset, a giggle from a child, a song from the past, a silly moment with your pet.
I wonder...can we be increasingly  more intentional about savoring such simplicity? I mean life is FULL of these moments strung together.
I want to make a conscious effort to allow these moments to rise to the top, rather than the ones that create friction in my soul.
While life unfolds for most of us in a somewhat monotonous daily grind, how much would it benefit our health to actually celebrate these moments by … (3 comments)
