There are open houses and then there are marketing events around open houses. Perhaps you've heard of them. In the Denver Metro area we have a group doing "Open House with Style". It started as an approach for upper end homes of having vendors for products that buyers who'd be interested in the upper end home might like, Arbonne, wine clubs, etc. For the agent and home owner willing to do the marketing themselves, there are property events, like the open house we held to raise funds for victims of the Four Mile Canyon Fires and food for the local food bank, … (3 comments)

Possibility of Mortgage Interest Deduction being axed - 03/07/11 03:50 PM
Did you ever consider what impact the mortgage interest deduction has had on home ownership levels in the US? It's one of the best tax hedges for the middle class. In speaking with folks, it has historically allowed people to have less burden when purchasing a primary residence. We know homes are better cared for and neighborhoods safer when the residents own their homes. I keep hearing rumors that Congress is discussing the repeal of the mortgage interest tax deduction.
