dogs: Adopting A Dog? Read THE CHOSEN PUPPY First - 04/18/12 10:27 AM
I thought this post worthy of re-blogging. My associate Marie has the right idea. Give a worthy dog a forever home and know before you go to adopt. Make sure the breed is a good fit for your family. Every breed is different and has certain stereotypes that often ring true. If you are a high energy person get an energetic dog, if your a couch potato get a senior or less active dog. There is a dog for everyone! I have had three rescue/adopted dogs (so far) and I will never go to a breeder again.

dogs: How do you keep and housebreak a puppy in a condo or townhouse, try the Potty Patch! - 12/14/11 02:01 PM
Many people living in condos or apartments have trouble housebreaking their puppies. It can be a challenge living with limited access to green space for your puppy to frequently go potty. I found an amazing new product that solves the problem and its called the Potty Patch. You can order it online for $39.95, as it is not sold in stores. It is endorsed by the American Kennel Club. This product allows your puppy to have a safe spot to go do their business in the house and not get in trouble. It also mimics real grass so your training them in a … (0 comments)

dogs: New proposed laws in Texas regarding your pets. It's only a bill now so do what you can - 05/16/09 10:47 AM
As a pet owner for over thirty years in Texas I try to stay on top of issues that affect my pets. That said, my last three dogs came from local rescue organizations, Schnauzer Rescue of Texas to be specific. The reason I am writing is to let you know there was a recent bill (SB 1845) introduced to require all pet owners to spay and neuter their pets. When/if this is passed into a law they anticipate the permit fee will be about $300 per pet. If you don't apply for and receive a permit to keep your pet fertile, you could be … (2 comments)

dogs: No good deed goes unpunished... and Lessons learned. - 11/24/08 11:39 AM
A good friend asked me to watch her dog over the weekend while she was away on business. Of course being a dog lover I said yes. Zoe is a sweet black Lab that loves just about everybody. On the first day of pet sitting I printed the email with the doggy instructions and most importantly the alarm codes. About nine thirty I went to the house and unlocked the door and ran to the alarm pad. I entered the numbers and nothing.... the alarm started beeping loudly. So I tried it again. Still nothing but louder beeping. I tried the … (18 comments)

dogs: Blogs for dogs.... whoda thunk it?! - 10/29/08 05:57 PM
I had to write about a cool website for your dogs. Its called www.Dogster.com and was created for people that love of dogs. Now once your pooch joins the site he or she can write blogs about their favorite hangouts like restaurants that allow dogs. Some dogs write about their favorite vet or groomer or post their diary to share with other dogs. My dogs are partial to the Town Lake jogging trail and Freddie's Place in south Austin. You can meet with other dog parents for play-dates. There are Groups just like many of the dating or networking sites. So if … (11 comments)
