It seems that everywhere you look people are talking about foreclosure. Bankers and the media seem to always have this topic on their lips. I hate to jump on the bandwagon, but it does seem to be a reality for most large American cites. Luckily Austin is not on the top of the list. In this economy more hard working families are faced with the reality of losing their homes by foreclosure. I want to share a heartwarming story that will renew your faith in your fellow man, or woman.
In 2004 Ms. Orr from Dallas Texas bought a home for $80K, recently she was laid off and fell behind in her payments. So the bank foreclosed on the home. After this happened this distraught woman went to the auction where her home was on the auction block.

If you have been watching the news in the last few months, you have seen Fannie and Freddie struggle to remain afloat. There have been numerous mortgage companies that have failed recently due to the huge number of foreclosures, and the depressed housing market. Washington just announced that that both entities will be placed into a government conservator-ship. The bad news is this may end up costing the average taxpayer. It appears as if the government is jumping into the mortgage business. The real question is what will this move cost your average taxpayer? Right now that answer is unknown.

As a Realtor I am always searching for new ways to meet people and keep up with technology. During my searches this long hot summer I found something else hot. Its called HotPads or more accurately www.HotPads.com. This is a website wherecivilians can go to find the latest properties for sale or for rent. Now for the 'hot' part, they can also see the foreclosures in a specific city or neighborhood. The maps show the foreclosed houses in red naturally. Get em' while they are hot! A red house signifies that one out of 150 homes in the neighborhood is in foreclosure. … (2 comments)
