What would you do with a thousand dollars today? Spend it on a new sound system, or workout equipment? I have a better idea, plan for your retirement. OK that does not sound sexy or exciting but it is the smart thing to do.
If you consider the Rule of 72, its easy. Divide the number 72 by your rate of return. The answer is te number of years it takes for you to double your money. Austin Energy is now offering new rebates for going 'green'.
If you install a Solar Residential PV you can get a $4500 or $4.50 per watt rebate!
The rebates pay up to 80% of the cost or $13,500 (which ever amount is less).
Feel like going solar for your water heating needs? Austin Energy offers a zero percent loan (with approved credit) OR a $2000 rebate.
