Consumers are always told about the importance of interest rates, but how often has it been fully explained to them?  They understand that it will lower their payments, but how many understand that it increases their purchasing power?  I'm hoping this simple example will give some a better grasp as to how great of an affect it can have on their situation. 
Here are 4 examples of varying loan amounts and interest rates:
Loan Amount:                  $200,000                 $210,000             $200,000                  $210,000
Interest Rate:                       5.5%                       5.5%                   6.0%                         6.0%
Loan Term:                        30 Years                  30 Years               30 Years                 30 Years

So what makes a person an 'Area Expert'? - 01/23/09 03:18 PM
I always see professionals declare themselves as a 'local expert', myself included.  But what makes a person THE local expert?  Is it because they live in the area?  Do they do more business in that region than any other professional?  Are they entrenched in that region, both professionally and otherwise?  Well, the truth is, more often that not, none of these pre-requisites apply.  I recently had an appointment in the southwest metro area.  After meeting with my potential client, she informed me she was seriously considering and agent because this agent was the local 'expert'.  She was polite enough to provide me with this agents name.  … (2 comments)
