Last year I decided that in 2008 my New Years Realtor Resolution was going to be to learn how to say NO!  I decided to really stick with it throughout ALL of 2008 and thought about it every time I met a new prospect (on the phone, over the internet, at open houses, etc).  What happened was amazing!  My PRODUCTION AND GROSS COMMISSION for 2008 was UP OVER 30%, even in this market, simply by saying NO!

2009 Resolutions - WHAT IS YOURS? - 12/31/08 02:18 PM
My 2009 Resolution is to increase my bottom line earnings by 30% again this year.  How am I going to do it?  I created an accountability sheet that I am going to use to do certain things that I sometimes overlook when the phone is ringing and I get busy.  I broke them down into daily goals, weekly goals, and monthly goals (all on one easy to read sheet of paper from Excel).  This way I can look back and see what I need to improve on.  Is it completely realistic to think that there will not be roadblocks?  Of course … (1 comments)

That is all it took for me to fill up my car the other day from being on EMPTY with the light on.  How AWESOME IS THAT!  I may be showing my age here, but I can't remember the last time that I could fill up my car for just about $20.00.  I think it was when I was back in high school (I graduated HS in 1996) when it was $1.26 a gallon.  It feels really good to actually be able to pay CASH again at the pump instead of using PLASTIC!  I hope that these prices continue.  The … (3 comments)

Do Open Houses Really Work? - 12/04/08 08:31 PM

Some agents think that open houses are a complete waste of time and refuse to hold or host them on either their own listings or on another agents listings.  Many of these same agents also still believe in the good ole "floor time" philosophy which involves sitting at a desk and waiting for the phone to ring.  Even if someone calls for information about a listing, this is not putting you in front of them.
