      <description>&lt;p style="text-align: left;"&gt;The &lt;a href="http://www.outerbankshome.com/corolla.html" title="Corolla real estate" target="_blank"&gt;Corolla real estate&lt;/a&gt; market continues on it's downward slide. Although the number of sales has leveled off the prices are still falling.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;It doesn't help when the lenders label an area as "declining" and make it harder to get a loan there than it does for borrowers just on the other side of the county line. And now the banks are dumping their foreclosures at stupidly low prices which just hurts the market even more.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;If you are in the market for an &lt;a href="http://www.outerbankshome.com/real-estate-news.html" title="Outer Banks foreclosures" target="_blank"&gt;Outer Banks foreclosure&lt;/a&gt; you can steal a property but be sure you have done your homework and are ready to move quickly because they are selling fast.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p style="text-align: left;"&gt;The median prices for properties located between the roads in Kill Devil Hills is now higher than it was in 2003 and the average price is also at the 2003 levels.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p style="text-align: left;"&gt;Likewise the median price for a residential property located on the &lt;span id="gtbmisp_0"&gt;west side&lt;/span&gt; of Kill Devil Hills is higher than it was in 2003, which was a banner year and the average price is almost where it was in 2004.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p style="text-align: left;"&gt;The median prices for properties located between the roads in Nags Head is now higher than it was in 2005 and the average price is back at 2004 levels.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p style="text-align: left;"&gt;Likewise the median price for a residential property located on the &lt;span id="gtbmisp_0"&gt;west side&lt;/span&gt; of Nags Head is higher than it was in 2004, which was a banner year and the average price is almost where it was in 2005.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p style="text-align: left;"&gt;The Nags Head oceanfront continues to suffer both in sales volume and in price. Part of the problem has to do with the expense of the high end loans and part of the problem is the ongoing debate over beach nourishment. All of the publicity surrounding beach nourishment is scaring buyers away from some of the best beaches available.&lt;/p&gt;

      <title>Outer Banks Foreclosures</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;The Outer Banks real estate market is feeling the pinch of the economy along with everybody else and we are seeing foreclosures show up here and there. The down fall has not been as dramatic here as it has been in some other parts of the country but Outer Banks real estate prices have fallen to 2003 levels and lower.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The advantage of having solid summer rental income and an affluent clientle has helped&amp;nbsp; the real estate market on the Outer Banks weather the storm fairly intact. Still, foreclosures are here and there are deals available for those brave souls willing to ignore the media's doom and gloom picture.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The interest rates have never been better and there are loans available. Don't believe all of the stories about the banks not lending money. If your credit is good and you can afford the downpayment and monthly mortgage payments then there are home loans available with low interest rates.&lt;/p&gt;

      <description>&lt;p&gt;Google just penalized a bunch of sites for reciprocal link scams. This is where people try to get a bunch of back links pointing to their site to improve their rankings. Back links are a good way to increase your internet exposure but caution must be taken to avoid getting penalized.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;If you get too many back links too fast it might start to look like you are gaming the system. If you participate in some of the link farms it is definitely going to look suspicious.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Right now on Active Rain there are people colluding to give each other back links. It looks innocent enough but are we looking a the new link farm? Will google be able to see through the ploy and who will get penalized?&amp;nbsp;Active Rain or the link farmers?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;Dr. Beach has chosen the 14 miles of undeveloped ocean front beach on Ocracoke Island as the #1 beach in the country. Most of Ocracoke is in the Cape Hatteras National Seashore and is protected from development. &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;This is the first time that a beach was chosen that was not in Florida or Hawaii. Each beach can only be chosen once and then it is no longer in the competition. Ocracoke has made the top 10 list before but after this first place it will not be eligible in the future.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I just spent a week there and it truly is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the beach. There is not much to do on Ocracoke so you had better enjoy the beach or it is not for you. For those staying on the northern Outer Banks, Ocracoke makes a good day trip with a free ferry ride and a quaint village.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

Learn to build a 8 foot from plywood using the stitch and glue method. For $300.00 you will learn how to build it and then you can take the boat home with you.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;July 19 at 10 am learn basic rigging techniques including whipping and splicing three strand rope.       <title>Chicamacomico Life Saving Station Reenactment</title>
      <description>&lt;p&gt;The Chicamacomico Life Saving Station Historic site in Rodanthe will be reenacting life saving techniques used back in the 1800s. Every Thursday at 2:00 pm the staff will shoot the Breeches Buoy. This is what was used to rescue people stranded on ships that had run aground.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;When a sail boat ran aground in a storm it was still 200 to 300 yards off the shore in a raging storm. The lifesavers would try to row a skiff out to the boat but if the sea was too rough they would use the Breeches Buoy. The breeches buoy was rigged up like this.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;A small cannon was used to shoot a small line out to the ship. Members of the crew would use this small line to pull a large line on-board the ship and rig it up to the mast. Then with a system of pulleys they would pull the breeches buoy back and forth from the ship to the shore unloading the passengers one at&amp;nbsp;a time. These lifesavers save many lives like this and you can experience it yourself.       <description>&lt;p&gt;Most of the residents on Roanoke Island do not have municipal water and rely on wells for drinking water. Dare County is planning to expand the water system to include these areas. The expansion is not being received very well by the residents who will be getting the water hookups.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The fear of high density development and the cost of the hookups is causing most of the residents to oppose the water expansion. Currently, the use of wells requires lot sizes to be fairly large. This is to keep the wells far enough away from the septic systems to avoid contamination of the wells. With central water, the lot size can be smaller and more can be built which leads to higher density.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The water expansion will bring fire hydrants to areas that currently do not have any. With this in mind it will be interesting to see if the county proceeds with the water expansion in the face of so much opposition.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
