brandon: Introducing A New Dedicated Short Sale Website. - 01/12/12 09:37 AM
So Does the world, or World Wide Web, need another web site?
Not likely, but I do and for that fact my local community does.  The new web site is totally dedicated to short sale and education about the risks of allowing a house to go to foreclosure.
The housing crisis has not abated in Florida and is still one of the most distressed areas in the country.  The Seven Myths of Short Sales continue to linger.
There is a ton of free information on this site as well as a new blog that will keep current information on short sale information.

brandon: Foreclosure, "Big Mistake, Big, HUGE!" - 12/22/11 10:49 AM
Remember in the movie "Pretty Woman," the shopping scene?  One of the great lines was ... "Big mistake, big, huge."  If you don't remember, Vivian Ward (Julia Roberts), the street lady hired by Edward Lewis (Richard Gere), had been run out of a fancy clothier on Rodeo Drive, in Hollywood, in a very rude way.  The next day Edward took Vivian shopping to a different clothing shop and spent an "obscene amount of money."  We catch up with Vivian after she left the shop with her new goods.

brandon: Understanding a Short Sale - 12/21/11 09:35 PM
There was a time when short sales existed and nobody had ever heard of them.  The reason was that it was rare that someone could owe more on their mortgage than the house is worth.
A client of mine bought a house in 2008.  He was aware that home values could continue to erode, but he was not concerned because this was the house that he and his wife wanted and were going to stay.  But, three years later he is presented with a divorce request.
He told me that as his high credit score, with the "perfect marriage" were about … (4 comments)

brandon: Finding the Right Real Estate Agent Does Not Have to be a Game of Cat and Mouse! - 11/05/11 03:55 PM
The Dreaded Phone Call
The phone rings, I answer "Hello, this is the Red Baron Realtor ...." I can hear the defense in their voice as they speak. "Eh, Hi, eh yes, eh I am looking at one of your yard signs."
Red Baron: "Yes sure, which one are you in front of?
Caller: Hesitation, as if an answer will reveal way too much information.
Caller Thinking: Must give that info if I want to ask a question.
"Well, I am over on 123 Main Street." Now with a quicker pace to not give any time for the agent to start … (4 comments)

brandon: American Cancer Society - Relay for Life at Bloomingdale High School - 03/22/11 10:01 AM
Bloomingdale High School students are gathering together this weekend to participate in the "Relay For Life" sponsored by the American Cancer Society.  Every penny raised goes 100% direct for the needs of cancer victims.
I have had the pleasure of being associated with one of the students and team leader, Zack Merschdorf.  I had the opportunity to catch up with this busy young man and interview him regarding the event and his team.

brandon: It's Nov. 4th and I Voted For ... - 11/04/08 09:04 AM
Ah yes, this day has finally arrived!
I actually love voting day.  This is the best day of the election process.  Yes, a lot has to do with the fact that this morning is the beginning of the end of campaigning and campaign television ads.  But, there are a couple of fundamental reasons I love this day other than the end of campaigning.
The Bedside Alarm Sounded Early
The alarm went of at 5:00 AM this morning, but it was not required.  Since I rise early, this mornings alarm was for security reasons.  Although I seldom have the alarm as my … (1 comments)

brandon: I Saw Her With My Own Eyes Walk By Faith! - 08/27/08 10:22 PM
It was Sunday evening, this week, and I was at my parents having our weekly dinner and Sunday night movie when my cell phone rang.  It was my wife.
"Honey, I have some bad news ... Fred Stubbs was in an accident this afternoon and they had to Medivac him to Tampa General Hospital."  Tampa General is the hospital with the largest triage center.
Fred had been on a Sunday afternoon drive with a couple of his Christian brothers on their Harley's.  The road was wet from a recent sprinkle and Fred hit standing water that took his Harley across the … (20 comments)

brandon: Brandon, Lithia & Sun City "Stuff the Bus" - 08/04/08 06:11 AM
I had read an advertisement about "Stuff the Bus" and was curious about this community event that stretches from the Brandon area south to Sun City Center.  So I called local Kiwanis President Dustie Amatangelo to get the scoop.
"Stuff the Bus will be a welcomed relief to administration, educators and countless families touched by the great support of our community," said Dustie Amatangelo.  "Providing these necessary school supplies will allow teachers to focus on teaching during the first few days of school, rather than trying to help the students find the basic supplies."

On August 7th local businesses and … (3 comments)

brandon: A Bike Ride to Lithia Springs Park - 07/04/08 11:43 AM
Okay, I guess it is time to date myself.
When I was a young boy growing up in Tampa, not far from MacDill AFB, I remember to this day a family picnic.  My dad threw all of five of us children in a 1956 pale green Chevrolet for a ride to Lithia Springs Park.
Of course SUV's had not been invented nor had seat belts for that fact.  So the back seat mosiac of 5 children was an interesting mode of transportation.  There were no interstate highways or Leroy Selmon Crosstown Expressways.
I was the oldest child and my next sister … (3 comments)
