BEATING DOWN THE TAX APPRAISAL MAN IS OFTEN A DUMB IDEA - 10/29/11 09:02 AM
I have a game I play by myself. It's not solitary. It's more fun than that. The purpose of the game is to look at the list of expired Dallas MLS listings and try to figure out why they didn't sell. To do this, the only information I have is what the listing agent provided about the listing and what I can scratch up myself. Usually I've not been in the home before, and I've not shown it, so I don't have the advantage of prospective buyers' feedback. PICKING A ROOFER? BETTER BE CAREFUL.....READ THESE GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS - 10/24/11 07:43 PM
During the late night on September 18th, much of Dallas experienced a rather severe hail storm. At our house, many of the ice pieces were at least the size of tennis balls. Almost all were at least the size of gold balls. The next morning, magnetic signs were stuck on truck after truck, that said they were owned by one roofing company of another. And we're talking about more than 50 years. Fortunately, I figured out in the beginning that piano tuning and piano performing were not going to earn enough money to support us. So real estate stepped in as the great profession that has give us a fine life for more than 45 years. One thing that is generic to piano tuning that's hard to get around is this. And it's a compound issue, (7 comments)
THE SHOCKING FACTS ABOUT SOCIAL SECURITY'S FUTURE - 10/14/11 04:47 PM
I have a longtime friend who is a federal attorney, and has been for many years. He sent this to me. THE TRUTH ABOUT SOCIAL SECURITY One of the least known facts about Social Security is that, although the government does have a moral obligation to pay Social Security benefits to those who have earned them, the government does not have a legal obligation to do so. In a 1960 ruling by the United States Supreme Court, the court ruled that nobody has a "contractual earned right" to Social Security benefits. Section 1104 of the 1935 Social Security Act specifically states, (4 comments)
