Are you priming the pump for your success? - 01/30/12 07:40 AM
Prime the Pump for Success
Several years ago, two friends of mine, two brothers, Johnny and Luis Ybarra were looking for land development opportunities in the foothills of Tucson, Arizona. One of the properties they previewed was an old abandoned ranch house with an old water pump in the yard. Obviously desert properties with a water source are more valuable than those without water so Luis grabbed the pump handle and started pumping. After a few minutes he asked Johnny to grab a bucket from the trunk and dip some water out of a nearby wash to “prime” the pump.

Are you struggling to find the time to do the things you need to do? - 01/27/12 07:44 AM
Are you struggling to find the time to do the things you need to do to reach the goals and objectives you have?
A day does not go by without someone asking about their schedule of activities and how they can balance their business with their personal life. The answer to this challenge is not easy but it is simple. You need to follow a well thought out plan.
1. Commit to yearly goals for personal development and professional accomplishment. Translate yearly goals into quarterly goals and then into "actions steps" that become part of your "to do" lists that are … (12 comments)

Do you hold yourself in high self-esteem? - 01/26/12 07:50 AM
You are worth a lot. No matter what people say to you about yourself, you are the one who needs to either filter it in your mind or throw it out and let it go. I keep hearing how people either criticize you or talk down to you. You explain how you cannot change them or change some of your clients or your family and I understand that. What you can change is the way you allow them to treat you. We are all human beings, brought here from the same Universe and we all deserve to be treated with respect. … (3 comments)

Are you on track in your life? - 01/25/12 07:32 AM
As we approach the end of January it's very important for each of us to review our goals and objectives. Are you on track to achieve your stated goals for the month or are you making excuses why not? Are you reverting back to the same old ways of 2011?
I have learned through difficult times that it's not what happens to you, it's what you do about what happens to you that is really important.

The thoughts you allow yourself to have are very important. What you focus on will be manifested in your outer life.

You must … (6 comments)

Are you allowing your fears to stand in your way? - 01/24/12 07:55 AM
Every day I receive comments from someone in the program who has had an "a-ha" moment as they overcome a fear that had been standing in their way.

An important part of opening your mind to the possibilities in your life is ridding your mind of the fears which limit your beliefs. Nearly everyone suffers from at least one of the seven basic fears; some of us must conquer them all.

Fear of poverty is the first and most destructive of the seven basic fears, and the hardest to master, because it brings so much suffering and misery. Much … (3 comments)

Are you learning from your setbacks? - 01/20/12 07:26 AM
As long as you maintain the right attitude and a certain amount of flexibility, you will be able to persist through the ups and downs you face in your day-to-day life. If you're tough and driven and work harder than you ever have before, and keep that "damn the torpedoes" approach and focus on what you need to do, not what's getting in our way.

All of us ought to be able to brace ourselves for the predictable challenges and setbacks that crop up every day.

When adversity hits, as you know it will, deal with it head on. You can't run from it. … (1 comments)

How do you feel about yourself? - 01/19/12 08:06 AM
How is your level of self-esteem? Our self-esteem is the value we put on ourselves. It's the person we see when we look in the mirror.

I learned a long time ago that you can expect great things from people who feel good about themselves. They can push themselves. They can set long term goals. They have dreams that everyone expects to be fulfilled. People with high self-esteem are risk takes, but more imp[ortant, they are achievers.

Conversely, people with low self-esteem are often unfocused and easily frustrated. They tend to be underachievers, complete with the package that is … (5 comments)

Are you on track to reach your January goals? - 01/17/12 07:45 AM
Achieving your goals is often more difficult than people realize. We may have a burning desire to see changes in our lives in 2012--less stress, a healthier lifestyle, more money in the bank account--but actually implementing those changes involves much more than merely motivation (though that's necessary as well)! If you already have motivation, following a few simple steps can help you bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be.Do you see yourself achieving your goals this month? Most of us intuitively understand: visualizing what we want in life is an essential step toward achieving it. A major part of … (0 comments)

Are YOU Giving Less Than Your Best? - 01/13/12 07:32 AM
Are you giving less than your best?An elderly carpenter was ready to retire. He told his employer, a building contractor, of his plans to leave the house building business and live a more leisurely life with his wife enjoying his extended family. He would miss the paycheck, but he needed to retire. They could get by.
His employer was sorry to see his good worker go and asked if he could build just one more house as a personal favor. The carpenter said yes, but it was easy to see that his heart was no longer in his work. He had … (4 comments)

Have you mastered the basics for success? - 01/10/12 07:39 AM
What so few real estate people seem willing to accept is a fundamental truth: to be successful you MUST master the fundamentals.Great salespeople, like great athletes, simply do the basics very well. Some of us would like to believe that there's a shortcut around the basics; that, if we could only find it, there's a secret formula out there somewhere for just sitting back and letting the money roll in. The sooner you get rid of that illusion, the sooner you get on with reaching the heights you want to reach through effective use of the basics. What are the five fundamentals for success you … (1 comments)

Do you get strength from your adversity? - 01/06/12 07:45 AM
A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared, he sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole.
Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could and it could go no farther.
Then the man decided to help the butterfly, so he took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings.
The man continued … (2 comments)
