How do you spell success? - 03/30/12 04:59 AM
Do you consider yourself a Success?
Success is NOT achieved accidentally. It is a systematic, deliberate process of deciding what you want to do with your life, what you will do when you get there, and what the steps are to get you where you want to be.
One of the most important aspects of success is the ability to visualize your path and stay focused on your goal until you reach it. The sooner you envision your dreams and develop a plan to turn them into reality, the faster you will accomplish your goals. Mental pictures are a mechanism to … (4 comments)

A place for everything and everything in it's place! - 03/29/12 05:06 AM
One of the most common complaints I get on my blog is that real estate professionals have a problem with a lack of time. What most don't realize, however is that their lack of time stems not from a lack of time but from a lack of organization. A lack of time is a perplexing and problematic issue that prohibits people from achieving more in life and work.
But here at Bill Fields Learning Systems we believe with a few simple tips - you can implement immediately - you can literally add hours to your day and regain control in … (11 comments)

Napoleon Bonaparte was a quitter! - 03/28/12 07:00 AM
Do you ever wonder why certain individuals achieve so much during their lives? History and legend has it that after Napoleon Bonaparte's army was defeated and the Duke of Wellington prevailed over the French, Napoleon was taken away and imprisoned. One day a group of newspaper reporters came to visit. They had obtained permission to hold an interview with the famous French general Napoleon Bonaparte. Even though Napoleon was in prison, he carried himself with dignity and looked with piercing eyes at the group of reporters gathered there before him. Questions were asked and answers given. The reporters wrote every word … (4 comments)

What is the single most important ingredient for success? - 03/27/12 05:14 AM
In my seminars I am frequently asked what I think is the single most important ingredient people need to be successful. Believe it or not the answer is simple. Want to know the answer I always give? I feel self-discipline is the single most important ingredient everybody needs to achieve success and happiness in business and life. Self-discipline is the ability to get yourself to take action regardless of your state of mind. Imagine what you could accomplish if you could simply get yourself to follow through on your best intentions no matter what. Picture yourself saying to your body, “You’re … (6 comments)

Do you know what you need to know? - 03/23/12 05:25 AM
Do you know what you need to know? Each year the National Association of Realtors surveys buyers and sellers to get accurate information regarding their buying and selling experiences. The report is very helpful in determining the demographics, motivations and habits of our customers. You can get valuable information on who the buyers and sellers are, what needs and expectations they have as well as helping you determine your role in the home buying and selling process.
This year's report demonstrates some interesting trends that have not been seen in the last 10 years. Interesting buyer statistics: * Tighter credit markets … (1 comments)

Do you like a good success story? - 03/22/12 04:59 AM
I love success stories and I believe every success story that I've ever heard began with someone’s positive mindset. Unfortunately the opposite is also true; every sad story I've ever heard was driven by a negative mindset: “I am poor and nothing is going to change, I might as well not bother to try” or “I'm not good enough”. Sad, but I don’t blame that person who has a negative attitude; I just want to help them change it?
I understand that it is never easy to switch from a negative mindset to a positive mindset and it doesn’t happen … (3 comments)

Is your vocation your vacation? - 03/21/12 05:00 AM
Do you find yourself butting your head against the wall of success? Are you caught in a revolving door going around and around? When you look at where you are in life, do you think you should be further ahead?
Not long ago, I reviewed my goals. If you know me, you might realize that I am a dreamer. I have BIG dreams. But there are days when I, too, am frustrated. I feel like I am spinning my wheels of success in one place.
On the outside, many people think I have it all together. They think I … (0 comments)

Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not yet come. We have only today. - 03/20/12 05:01 AM
Last night while talking to my daughter she told me of a sad story about a friend of hers, a thirty year old man, who passed away a month ago from a brain tumor. Thirty years old! He had barely begun life as an adult, hardly seen life through grown-up eyes. It is a tragedy that we can all relate to, and if we wish, one we can all learn from. When sad events like these happen, as they are bound to, they should serve as a wake-up call to us; they are a call to action that we can use … (9 comments)

The 3 most important words in real estate: listings, listings, listings! - 03/16/12 05:27 AM
I hope you made this a productive week for yourself. The existing inventory of homes for sale continues to fall as buyers are out there buying, buying, buying. That means, you must list if you want to last! Are you planning to launch a new prospecting plan, but can't quite motivate yourself to get started? What are you waiting for? Most of us are hesitant to start anything new because we are afraid we might make a mistake or fail. Go ahead make mistakes! Don’t wait for more experience or to be good enough to start. You don’t have to be … (10 comments)

Are you smarter than Ben Franklin? - 03/15/12 05:39 AM
Benjamin Franklin once said "Never confuse motion with action." Do you find yourself busy each day with lots of tasks but still not getting any closer to the goals and objectives you have set for yourself? Maybe it's time to try some new ideas! As I have discussed in my daily blog, if you always do what you always did you will always get what you always got!)Use the rule of five, suggests Jack Canfield, author of Chicken Soup for the Soul. List five actions you could take TODAY on one of your primary goals and then do them. Make a … (2 comments)

Feel the fear...But do it anyway! Best advice I ever got! - 03/14/12 05:16 AM
What are you afraid of?Everyone wants to be known as 'Courageous'. Courage is a wonderful feat to achieve. It is not only displayed by soldiers in a war field who faithfully defend their country; every field of work requires courage at various levels. The very fact that 'right now' you are interested in something positive, which has life changing potential, proves the courage in you. Courage can be understood in many ways and one of them is by studying the one thing that tends to antagonize, neutralize and negate it: Fear. In my daily blog I frequently write about how fear … (3 comments)

Are you prepared to pay the price for success? - 03/13/12 05:35 AM
Are you willing to pay the price for success?
Yes, it IS a challenge to succeed. If it were not, I’m sure more people would be successful, but for every person who is enjoying the fruit from the tree of success, many are busy examining the roots. They are trying to figure it all out. They are mystified and perplexed by what seems to be some strange, complex and elusive secret that must be found if ever success is to be enjoyed. While many people in real estate spend most of their career struggling to earn a living, a much smaller … (5 comments)

FSBO means I LOVE YOU! - 03/12/12 06:46 AM
Danger! Danger!Listing inventories are reaching a critical stage. The average standing inventory is now less than 6 months and in certain areas it's down to only 2 months! That means if nothing else becomes available agents in those markets would have nothing to sell in 2 months! You MUST list if you want to last! (As the inventory continues to shrink the buyers will begin to seek out the listing agents to assure themselves of the best shot to get a property. Agents who have been focused primarily on buyers will find the buyers abandoning them to go to the listing agents.) … (4 comments)

Are you too old and set in your ways to change? - 03/09/12 04:41 AM
Yesterday one of the agents in our coaching session used this as a reason (excuse) why she couldn't seem to change the negative habits that were keeping her from reaching the goals and objectives she has established for herself. Are you too old and "set in your ways" to change? Are you using this as an excuse to allow you not make the changes you need to make in your business and life? Change begins with our choices.Any day we wish; we can discipline ourselves to change it all. Any day we wish; we can open the book that will open our … (10 comments)

What have you done for me lately? - 03/08/12 04:38 AM
Are you creating customers for life? Are your customers card carrying members of your fan club? It’s been said that on average a happy customer or client will share their experience with three other people, while a negative experience will be retold upwards of 10 times.I readily admit I don’t have the scientific numbers to prove whether the above claim is true or not, but I can tell you that if there’s even the slightest smidgen of truth in it I don’t want to find out for sure! Do you? No, of course you don’t. The following story from a friend … (5 comments)

Do you live in the land of make believe? - 03/06/12 11:10 AM
Do you spend time wishing things were different or do you accept things the way they really are? Acceptance is such an important habit, some have called it "the first law of personal growth."
Acceptance is simply seeing something the way it is and saying, "That's the way it really is."
Acceptance is not approval, consent, permission, authorization, endorsement, promoting or even liking what is. Acceptance is simply acknowledging, "It it what it is."

Until we are willing to accept everything as the way it is, we can not see reality. We will always be looking through the filters … (4 comments)

Are you choosing to be average and ordinary? - 03/05/12 04:35 AM
Are you like so many people today, pushing and shoving your way through life trying to achieve some sort of success but aren’t sure what success looks like?
Do you tear through each day, each week, and each month without any idea where you are going, without a plan for your life, personally or professionally?
We are all affected by factors that impact our daily lives. These five factors explain why we do what we do each day. The five factors of influence are as follows:
1. Environment: Your physical surroundings, past and present.
2. Events: The external circumstances that … (12 comments)

The most important sale you can make is selling yourself on yourself! - 03/02/12 04:32 AM
Are you off and running pursuing your goals and objectives for March? In my role as personal coach I have had the opportunity to observe many top producers, actually spending entire days with them while they worked. I have also tagged along with quite a few underachievers. I noticed that many top producers tended to act differently than did the underachievers in a few particular but important ways. Let me share with you three of the biggest differences in characteristics that helped to separate the top producers from the underachievers. The first and most obvious difference between top producers and underachievers … (8 comments)
