Back to the office tomorrow. I have a client wanting to see property and two closings scheduled for the upcoming week. But today is day three of a Memorial Weekend Shopathon. Saturday was shopping in Tulsa. On Sunday I drove thirty miles south to Branson and today I spent an afternoon in good ol' Springfield, Missouri at the Battlefield Mall and of course T.J. Maxx.

After a wonderful saturday of shopping in Tulsa, I decided to take my college age son and his girlfriend down to Branson, Missouri to visit The Landing. I know, 2 consecutive days of shopping you ask? Some might think this horrible, but to this little shopaholic, I thought that I had died and gone to heaven. And to make things even better, my son's new girlfriend is a girly girl. A young lady who appreciates the latest fashion from Anthropologie or a bargain at T.J. Maxx. She understands like me that shopping is shopping.

Don't get me wrong. I love my job as a real estate agent, but when I work, I work hard and sometimes it's fun to just get away. So on Saturday I decided to take a break (I still couldn't bring myself to turn off my phone) and go shopping in Tulsa. In a little over two hours I planned to be surrounded by Stuart Weitzman and Jimmy Choo shoes, jewelry by John Hardy and David Yurman and of course anything Gucci.

Why is it that Karma is often referred to in the female sense and it seems like she is often called things like witch or othet descriptive terms that rhymes with witch. But sometimes Karma can smile on you and act like a princess too.

With summer here, an agent in my office and I have decided to take on the task of reviewing cafe/restaurants in the small towns that surround Springfield, Missouri. Last summer we visited a few and had some of the best cooking we both had experienced in years. Tough job, huh?

I happen to live in one of the fastest growing counties in our state. People move here for many reasons including quality of life, great medical facilities, the area lakes, low crime rates but the reason I hear more than anything else is great school systems. There are many great school systems and as local agents part of our jobs is to get this info out to people looking to move to southwest Missouri. I had a situation this morning where a "friend" stopped by and said that she had listed her home with an agent she goes to church with. She felt uneasy about it but her husband said it would have been awkward not to have used him. I told her not to worry about it. She said I knew you would understand and then came the question she really stopped by to ask. "Does the MLS charge a fee for the number of pictures you upload?" So many of my buyers are not quite sure exactly how to get the home buying process started. My advice before they ever begin looking at houses is to find the right lender. I've compiled a list of competant lenders in southwest missouri that I know are honest and hard working. If they prove not to be, they are removed from my list. I advise my buyers to shop around. Get the best bang for your buck and then let's go find the right house.

Great family fun this weekend in Nixa, Missouri. Parade on Friday night at 6:30 PM with activities and the Sucker Day Festival starting at 9:00 the next morning. More fried Sucker (a type of fish) than a person can eat with all the trimmings.

An Arrest Warrant Issued in Missouri for Doing Nothing. - 05/19/10 04:12 PM
   Strange but true. Just recently a friend of mine got a phone call from his college son who said, "Hey, I was on a web site called casenet.com and it says you have a warrant out for your arrest for passing bad checks and failing to appear to court from 2007. My friend checked and sure enough it was there. So he logged onto the Greene County Sherriff's web site as well as the Greene County Prosecutor's web site and it was posted on them as well. The morning started out a little crazy with storm warnings and all, but one thing that brought me joy was the disappointment my eleven year son had when he said, "Great, more rain.
