houses in springfield: June is busting out in Missouri. - 06/01/10 03:20 PM
I just love June. To me it's really summertime when June rolls in. In Branson, White Water opens on Tuesday the 1st and in Springfield, the public pools open on Thursday, June 3. If you like fresh produce the 32nd annual Greater Springfield Farmer's Market is held on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday on the Battlefield Mall Parking lot. And ten miles south in Ozark, the Spring Bull Rides are Friday and Saturday Night.
While most of the area schools got out last week, the Springfield Public Schools are out on Wednesday and the kids will find June with her many area activities waiting … (4 comments)

houses in springfield: The Ladies Will Understand. Final Blog - 05/31/10 11:59 AM
Back to the office tomorrow. I have a client wanting to see property and two closings scheduled for the upcoming week. But today is day three of a Memorial Weekend Shopathon. Saturday was shopping in Tulsa. On Sunday I drove thirty miles south to Branson and today I spent an afternoon in good ol' Springfield, Missouri at the Battlefield Mall and of course T.J. Maxx.
Let's face it I like to shop. A new purse, new shoes or a new little black dress brings me happness. I know most men won't understand this, instead thinking shopping is just spending money. But … (5 comments)

houses in springfield: The ladies will understand. Part 2. - 05/30/10 05:41 PM
After a wonderful saturday of shopping in Tulsa, I decided to take my college age son and his girlfriend down to Branson, Missouri to visit The Landing. I know, 2 consecutive days of shopping you ask? Some might think this horrible, but to this little shopaholic, I thought that I had died and gone to heaven. And to make things even better, my son's new girlfriend is a girly girl. A young lady who appreciates the latest fashion from Anthropologie or a bargain at T.J. Maxx. She understands like me that shopping is shopping.
So while others spent time at the lake getting sun burned or attending cookouts fighting ants and … (0 comments)

houses in springfield: The ladies will understand. - 05/30/10 05:17 AM
Don't get me wrong. I love my job as a real estate agent, but when I work, I work hard and sometimes it's fun to just get away. So on Saturday I decided to take a break (I still couldn't bring myself to turn off my phone) and go shopping in Tulsa. In a little over two hours I planned to be surrounded by Stuart Weitzman and Jimmy Choo shoes, jewelry by John Hardy and David Yurman and of course anything Gucci.
That's just one of the nice things about living in Springfield Missouri. It's big enough to provide the necessities of … (7 comments)

houses in springfield: Karma can be a .....Sweetheart - 05/28/10 06:27 PM
Why is it that Karma is often referred to in the female sense and it seems like she is often called things like witch or othet descriptive terms that rhymes with witch. But sometimes Karma can smile on you and act like a princess too.
You see I try to always treat people the right way but some people make it difficult to treat them the right way. With those people you just have to try harder. Case in point.
A few weeks ago I met a client who wasn't always easy to work with. In her mid seventy's, she was … (7 comments)

houses in springfield: Table Rock Lake: A Jewel in the Ozarks! - 05/26/10 12:23 PM
If you have plans this summer to visit Branson or any part of southwest Missouri, make sure you set aside some time to visit Table Rock Lake and Table Rock Dam. Built in the late 1950's by the Army Corp of Engineers to bring electricity to the Ozarks, it has become the center piece of outdoor life in the area by providing hours of family fun through fishing, boating and skiing. So whether you visit the lake during a cruise on the Branson Belle or by seeing it the way I did as a small girl in Cape Fair at one of the many lake parks, you'll … (3 comments)

houses in springfield: Down Home Cooking! - 05/25/10 09:07 AM
With summer here, an agent in my office and I have decided to take on the task of reviewing cafe/restaurants in the small towns that surround Springfield, Missouri. Last summer we visited a few and had some of the best cooking we both had experienced in years. Tough job, huh?
I'm going to start of with Rosie Jo's in Ozark. Let's just say that if you like it fried this is the place for you. Burgers and fries are the staple, but I had the chicken strips, mashed potatoes and gravy with green beans on the side. Delicious! Lots of choices in … (3 comments)

houses in springfield: Online Pictures are cheap. Use them ! - 05/24/10 06:48 AM
I had a situation this morning where a "friend" stopped by and said that she had listed her home with an agent she goes to church with. She felt uneasy about it but her husband said it would have been awkward not to have used him. I told her not to worry about it. She said I knew you would understand and then came the question she really stopped by to ask. "Does the MLS charge a fee for the number of pictures you upload?" I explained no and she said her agent only put a half dozen poorly lit pictures … (4 comments)

houses in springfield: My Life is About to Change ! - 05/17/10 06:32 AM

If you have a son or daughter who has gone away to college you know exactly what I'm talking about or you might even be experiencing right now what I'm referring to. My son's spring semester ended last week and as soon as his college baseball season is over he'll be home for the summer. Yeah!? Now don't get me wrong. I love my son with all my heart, but when he leaves for college he takes his bad habits with him. When he comes home the bad habits return joined by a few more he picked up from college … (5 comments)

houses in springfield: Mother's Intuition - 05/13/10 10:15 AM
The morning started out a little crazy with storm warnings and all, but one thing that brought me joy was the disappointment my eleven year son had when he said, "Great, more rain. I hope our baseball game doesn't get rained out again."  You see, last Monday was supposed to be opening night for the park league baseball season in our home town. A day of rain and cold weather postponed that till today and unless things change dramatically, it looks like it might be postponed again until next week. But you probably have to be wondering why my son's disappointment could bring … (6 comments)
