home stager: Are you an INTERESTED or a COMMITTED home seller? ... How this can impact your house sale - 12/01/11 09:47 PM
I am sure you have heard this before: What is the difference between being interested and being committed?
It has been said that “when you are interested, you do whatever is most convenient. When you are committed, you do whatever it takes.”
Are YOU interested or committed to selling your house? This should be your first question when deciding to put your house on the market. YES, you are hiring a real estate agent to help with your home sale, but NO, your agent cannot do this on his/her own. The Real Estate Agent needs your commitment. There are certain aspects … (12 comments)

home stager: Redesign Your Space’s Dining Room Design featured in the Life@Home Magazine, a new Hearst Publication - 02/11/11 10:16 PM
so thrilled that one of our staging designs was chosen to be published in the second issue of the new Life@Home Magazine. The magazine focuses on interior design, local design stores, architecture, landscape designs, cooking and enjoying life in Fairfield County Connecticut.
Our Top Tip in the magazine is: Think of color as the bass, furniture as the main instruments, and accessories and wall décor the fine tuning. Put them together and they create the room’s orchestral sound.

home stager: Why we are "Turning Places Into Loving Spaces!" - 02/10/11 10:54 PM
In order to answer this I have to tell you a little bit more about myself. I was very fortunate to grow up in a home and family that was very loving and nurturing, which is nowadays not a given thing for kids to have. I know that having a home that makes you feel relaxed, cozy, snugly, comfortable, protected, loved, and at peace is invaluable in life.
Having moved into different homes throughout Europe and then several homes here in the US, I have experienced that the design of a home gives us different energy and feelings. My passion as … (5 comments)

home stager: Hanging pendant lighting fixtures - 10/20/10 09:28 PM
As a Home Stager in Fairfield county, Connecticut, I often consult my clients to change lighting fixtures in order to update the look of a room. Great looking lighting fixtures are no longer a big expense. Local hardware stores offer great looking, inexpensive lighting fixtures.
Deciding how high or low a light fixture should hang is not easy - I am frequently getting this questions from my clients. So I thought it might be a good idea to write a short blog about the most common locations.

home stager: ONE Home Staging Consultation changed the lives of many people - 09/19/10 10:34 PM
Recently a home seller who has her townhouse on the market for over a year called Redesign Your Space for a vacant home staging proposal. Since the client lives in another state, she was not aware about the exact condition of the condo - the carpet had coffee stains, the walls needed touch up painting, a whole in the wall, bathtowel fixtures were loose, wallpaper being loose,...  I felt compelled to provide a clear picture to her about what needs to be done in order to be able to sell her house and provided her for free with an action plan … (11 comments)

home stager: home staging with turquoise - which colors do you like to use? - 09/07/10 10:20 PM
Throughout this year we have seen many great colors, but did you know that the color of the year 2010 is turquoise according to Pantone Fashion + Home.
When staging homes, I love to accessorize with current colors to give homes up to date looks. Here are just a couple of examples where we used turquoise when staging homes here in Fairfield county in Connecticut.

Another color that I like to use for home staging is red.
What colors do you like to use in your staging projects?

home stager: Why waiting for staging your home until the last minute? - 05/28/10 09:53 PM
Last Friday late afternoon I received a phone call from a home seller that on Monday the real estate photographer would come, but she did not feel that the house was quite there yet to put it on the market and if I could help her last minute. On Sunday I stopped over for the initial consultation. I could tell that she had done already a lot of work decluttering, but I had to agree with her that the house was not quite there yet. We rolled up our sleeves and transformed and updated the house as much as possible. Some … (2 comments)

home stager: New AR Group - the REALTOR & HOME STAGERS INFORMATION EXCHANGE - 01/23/10 07:29 AM

For a couple of months I am now an Active Rainmaker and I am really thrilled with the content that you all are sharing. Exploring most groups on AR I have noted that there are groups that are being almost exclusively (with a few exceptions) commented by either just Realtors or just Home Stagers. What I have been missing is a group that would bring our two professions closer together. Therefore, I have created a new Group on Active Rain called "Realtors & Home Stagers Information Exchange".
This community is designed to exchange information, ideas, success stories or discussions about related … (7 comments)

home stager: Pending Home Sales fell sharply … Is YOUR House Selling Strategy complete? - 01/06/10 11:26 PM
With the current Real Estate Market situation, what does this mean for you? The market is tough. With only few buyers out there you are competing with all other home sellers for those few buyers. HGTV has indicated that the number ONE Real Estate Mistake is to fail to showcase the home and make small cosmetic changes. Have you considered all aspects of marketing to ensure that buyers choose your house over your competition?
For a successful marketing strategy (yes, selling your house is like selling any other product) the following 4  aspects of marketing should be considered:
Packaging/Product (Your … (13 comments)

home stager: Home sales fell sharply …Is YOUR House Selling Strategy complete? - 01/06/10 10:52 PM
Yesterday The Norwalk Hour published an article by Alan Zibel indicating that according to the National Association of Realtors the seasonally adjusted index of sales agreements fell 16% from October to November (in the Northeast even 25.7%).  This is the first decline following 9 straight months of gains, but don't get discouraged - a surge is again expected in spring . To read the full article go to:   http://www.thehour.com/story/480202 and for the National Association of Realtors report http://www.realtor.org/press_room/news_releases/2010/01/pending_surge
