Investors eye the Central Oregon Coast for real estate bargains - 12/27/11 02:34 AM

Today I bring to you a photo of a sunny winter day in Lincoln City, Oregon. Lincoln County has become a popular place to search for an affordable beach home on the stunningly beautiful Pacific Coastline. This stretch of road goes through the popular "Oceanlake" district of Lincoln City. Oceanlake is popular with tourists and full time residents alike for the wonderful shopping, restaurants and lively nightlife with clubs like Nauti Mermaid hosting live bands almost every weekend, Maxwells with nitely Karaoke (for those of you who like that kind of torture!) and Chinook Winds Casino at the north end of … (1 comments)

Taking a moment to reflect.... - 12/20/11 02:13 AM

I would like to share a poem with you written by Homer, thirty years before Christ was born.
Happy the man, and happy he alone,
He who can call to-day his own:
He who, secure within, can say:
"To-morrow, do thy worst, for I have liv'd to-day."

Here's wishing you a day free of worry and full of hope and beauty. Thanks for taking the time to read my blog!
Happy selling!

Today was the best real estate day of my life!!! :) - 12/14/11 07:52 PM
This morning my office held a meeting to discuss our past year. I was unprepared for the surprize at the end of the meeting when I was awarded an engraved sales plaque for top sales this year. It was a moment better than any school graduation or applause for a musical performance - it is the first time ever I have received something like this. At the beginning of 2011, we had a meeting about the poor market and how we need to sell if we wish to stay in business. Therefore, my simple wish in Jan. 2011 was to survive and continue to be a … (3 comments)

Check who owns the land under the listing before you make that offer! - 12/13/11 04:52 PM
Once upon a time, I had an exciting call from an agent who had a party interested in a condo listing of mine. He asked me, "Is the land under the condo owned, or leased?
The owner never mentioned a land lease to me, I had read the CC&R's and had not seen anything indicating that the units were sitting on leased land. The customer service report from title did not show any record of it.
I pulled the file and read the CC&R's with a fine tooth comb.  Somehow, I had missed reading a page with very old, small … (6 comments)

Networking in December leads to January sales! - 12/09/11 03:59 PM
Last night I went to a holiday party at the Embarcadero Resort in Newport, Oregon on the bayfront. It had a fabulous view of the marina and many of the boats were adorned with Christmas lights, making for a festive setting.
By the end of the evening, I had met a dozen new faces and handed out a few business cards. The topic of conversation at many of the tables was real estate, and because I had already introduced myself as an agent to a couple of strangers early in the evening, I was introduced by those folks to others who … (2 comments)
