Mountains

Enjoy the view from our backyard!

Not that I have much time to absorb the national news but haven't we heard just about enough doom and gloom about our industry.  I am happy to report that our area is now seeing many signs of not just market rebound, but the indications of a growth and expansion.

We have recently awaited word about a new Electric Power Plant to be located at St. Paul, Va. and indications look good.  With this new plant will come not only the building crew for rentals but additional families to relocate in this area.

Growth for us in this mountainous region is precious and long overdue.  2007 has seen the location of Northrop Grumman and CGI-AMS to Lebanon.  This has continued a growth spurt begun with the location of an AT&T call service center.

While it is true that higher end properties in this market are behind last year's sales numbers, we are seeing properties sell.   Let's stop focusing on the "downturn of the market", lift our heads, celebrate that we live and work in a fabulous industry and get on with it.  Houses sold when interest rates were 18% (I know because that's when I entered the biz) and they will sell now.  We may need to take a new tact, get more creative and work harder but doesn't that spell out which of us are true professionals?
